So everyone and their Presses are campaigning for their artists to be nominated for 2008 VMA. One that really made me laugh was Britney Spears Myspace bulletin asking fans to rack as many nominations for the Pop Star.

Look, I love the chick. Yes I do, as sick as that sounds, I’m a loyal fan. But I’m not voting for her. Why? Because she doesn’t have videos playing on MTV (if by any chance they’re actually playing videos). Not that I’ve seen anyway. Out of the 12 tracks from her Blackout album, she made 3 videos, thus far. They’re all mediocre. The 3rd one, I can’t even remember what song (Break The Ice?), was premiered online. I never caught it on MTV maybe because I’m sick of MTV having reality shows up the ying yang. I hardly watch that damn channel anymore. Except lately with FN’MTV. Granted it’s totally not Britney’s fault that her videos aren’t on all day, she still doesn’t deserve nominations. Unlike other Pop Music fans, I can actually set aside my crazy fan tendencies and consider the credibility of an artist for such accolades.
C’mon people. If you’re going to vote for a Best Female Video, vote for Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey or Katy Perry. Don’t just vote because you’re loyally trying to support an artist. That’s fine and dandy but think of the work they’ve done and decide at that particular time whether they actually deserve a nomination or the award for that matter. Like I said, I ♥ Britney, but she doesn’t deserve a nomination/award this year. Britney herself probably knows that too. Some of her fans just can’t seem to comprehend that.
All I’m hoping is for Britney to pull herself together to hopefully perform during the award ceremony. I want her in that stage on September, dancing, lip synching and finally make her much awaited “comeback”. That’s all I ask.
BTW, the last I heard she was supposed to go to Europe to shoot the RADAR video but haven’t heard anything new about it so we’ll all just have to wait..:)

lmao oh please. Britney has been robbed many times from MTV. She hasn’t been awarded one moon man in her 10 year career. It’s ridiculous. If people are voting for her let them vote for her. It doesn’t make you special by writing this saying you’re not going to vote for her. Her millions of fans got her nominated. You really think the other videos are that good? Britney always saves their declining show.

Britney is a video Icon. Everyone has videos that aren’t up to par. At least with Britney they are her ideas, and the producers say how she comes up with the concepts for her videos.
I voted for her, and I hope she wins. If she shows up like Shelly said she will save the show once again.
Interesting, Tom and Shelly have the same IP and Tom commented about Shelly’s post when it was still under moderation.
Did you guys forget the last performance Britney did with MTV. She didn’t save the show. It was disastrous. Love and defend Britney all you want, I do too but be realistic please. If you missed the last part of this post, I said I hope Britney shows up to perform..

Be that as it may, like I said, Britney’s videos aren’t played as much as the other female artists. You can’t nominate somebody whose videos are not being played.
