When Brandi is arrested by Agent O’Connor for drug trafficking & murder, Mary races to find a way out for Brandi and the sordid motive for O’Connor’s vendetta in a new episode (209) of In Plain Sight, “Who’s Bugging Mary?” tonight on USA.
Since season two started, evidence of last season’s invasion by Agent O’Connor has been obvious as Mary (Mary McCormack) has refused to fix up her house that he tore apart looking for the drugs Brandi was keeping for her ex-boyfriend. Of course, Mary’s boyfriend Rafael (Christian de la Fuente) protected Brandi and Mary by spreading the drugs on the baseball field as the the chalk on the field. In case you didn’t watch In Plain Sight last season, Brandi didn’t approve of what her ex-boyfriend was doing, but she couldn’t get out of the mess she was in. Mary ended up kidnapped by the drug dealers and almost was raped and killed, but she survived.
I’m curious if in this episode if they will refer to last week’s episode (A Frond in Need, 208) where we learned the secret about Mary’s dad (or at least part of the secret). He had another family that no one ever knew about. The daughter, Lauren Hefferman (Laura Prepon, That 70’s Show), tells Jinx and Brandi about her father and a letter she was supposed to mail for him. They don’t want to tell Mary at the moment, though Mary does see Lauren in the morning because she stayed over, but they tell her it’s a cousin on Jinx’s side. When Laura tells Mary “Alrighty then,” as she walks out, it reminds Mary of something (her father?).
But honestly, Mary was too busy in the last episode with her case that she didn’t have time to deal with the family issue (though she deserved to know).
It’s obvious from the pictures for this episode, that Brandi is at least going to be arraigned. Can Mary and Marshall prove her innocence?
