Inglourious Basterds hits shelves on DVD and Blu-Ray this week!

There’s some good news for any Brad Pitt fans who didn’t get a chance to catch Inglourious Basterds in theaters. The film is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, December 15th, just in time for a good Christmas gift for anyone in your life who loves Brad – or for yourself!

basterds

I didn’t get to see it when it was in theaters this summer because I was out of town at the time, so I am really looking forward to seeing the Basterds on DVD!

If you’d like to order it, it’s available in Single-Disc Edition on DVD or a Two-Disc Special Edition.

Meanwhile if you have a Blu-Ray disc player you can also get that in the 2-Disc Special Edition.

The extra features include fun things like a round table discussion with Brad Pitt, Quentin Tarantino, and Elvis Mitchell, a trivia challenge game, and an extra full feature called Nation’s Pride.

Who’s planning on buying or renting Inglourious Basterds this week?

Inglorious Bastard is going to Oscar nomination. I’m looking forward to see DVD to see Hong Kong star Magie Chen in deleted scene in theatrical version. She is a brilliant actress. Since the producer of Tree of Life yesterday said the movie will be released in next summer or fall we have to wait more several months. And I read Avator has a big tree which sees human being’s evolvement.

Inglourious Basterds Single-Disc DVD hit the shelves here in Finland last week (Dec 9). I really wish that someone in my family will buy it for me as a Christmas gift. I really loved this movie although I normally don´t like Quentin Tarantino´s movies. I think that Brad´s character Aldo Raine is just hilarious! The Blue-Ray version of the movie comes out here in Finland tomorrow (Dec 16). Wish I had a Blue-Ray player but I don´t. Brad´s b-day coming this Friday (Dec 18). Wonder where the family will celebrate it. My guess is that in LA.

Thanks for the heads up Sherry. I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t yet seen the movie. From the rave reviews by the JP fans it seems like a fantastic movie and I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Good to hear this news. I gotta say I have not seen the movie yet either, although it is showing in one of the theaters here now. However, things have been hectic and I have not been able to go. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get the DVD soon.

15th Annual critics Choice Awards nominations are in and Inglourious Basterds is up for 10 awards (non for Brad) but still. It looks like the Pitts are up for a long ward season, ya!!! red carpet pics.

I will definitely be picking up the new DVD of Inglourious Bast erds, though I already saw it in the movie theatre…I look forward to the extra footage of interviews..

OFF TOPIC: Sherry, there are two news items today that are VERY positive towards Angelina Jolie. Perhaps you should read them…

1st story: The Rapper ‘50 cent’ was asked which person would you like to swap bodies with, and he replied, “I’d like to be Brad Pitt. Sleep with Angelina Jolie, then come back. (LOL!) GET IN LINE BUDDY! LOL!

2nd Story: The beautiful Brunette actress from the movie ‘GIRLFIGHT’ and other movies said that she admires Angelina and wants to pattern her career after her. She said something to the affect that she likes how Angelina embodies both feminine and masculine roles, and said that Angelina is someone who will be SEXY even in her fifties! (I TOTALLY AGREE!)

I doubt that they will attend these awards show unless Brad is nominated that seems to be their pattern.Brad was not nominated for GG but QT was and the movie so we will see.One year Angie went on a UN trip rather than attend some award show and they didn’t go to Oscars in 2008. As a Oscar Winner Angie is automatically invited to the Oscars I think.

Golden Globes just in from what I could see IB is up for 4 or 5 awards. As for weather they show up for the award show it all depends on what is in the contract Brad signed doesn’t it. It not really up to them, its what’s in the contract and since Brad is interested in doing a pre-IB, I would think he would show up to support and shmooze. He also has a lot of his own project that probably need to be shmoozed as well. Acting is a job, and it pays their bills.

Brad and Angie don’t play by the Hollywood Rules. If they played by the rules they would be attending Hollywood parties and premiers and schmmozing all the time. You can count on one hand the number of Hollywood events they attended this year Brad didnt even attend the DVD release party for IB yesterday. I saw the pics of most of the cast on yuku jjb today.

I beg to differ but they do play by the rules they are just a higher staked table then most actors and actresses. As much as we love them they are still actors and if you think the producer and studios think twice about them other then in terms of money, and how much more money they will make them, then your wrong. they are not God’s they still have to sign contracts and put their pants on one leg at a time.

i just got my blu-ray copy today with free IB soundtrack on Target with $8 off from the coupons that i’ve collected. go get your own copy guys :)

Yoco, i think i know what you mean by them not playing by the rules and i agree. same reason why some critics don’t like them because they are not like other celebrities who likes to su.ck up and sing praises just to be liked and to have good connection with the right people in hollywoodland.

K i m – I’m with you on that one. :) The formal “rules”, or rather terms of contract, are binding. Now, the more frilly “Hollywood rules” they do tend to do whatever they want with… Just think people have to understand the difference between what’s a contracted obligation (and we don’t always know the specifics of those!), and what’s a willful disregard.

Now more on topic; I thought the entire final product was good enough. Really entertaining! I don’t know about the rest of you, but the only IB-actor who was truly BRILLIANT was actually Christoph Waltz. He just held his own! Even the Cannes jury saw that. None of the others “popped out” by themselves, but rather worked well as a part of a bigger whole (which was what Tarantino was aiming at apparently). Brads input was at it’s peak when facing Waltz, but not the best he’s done otherwise. I didn’t see it as “a Brad flick”, but rather as a “Tarantino-flick”. Goes down much better that way.

For all of you who’ve yet to see IB, there’s only one thing to say; see it! It’s actually more comic than anything… with a bit of the usual Tarantino-twist ;)
