Interview with Jayla Rubinelli

Now that the show’s over, Jayla returns to her old job delivering burgers for her uncle’s restaurant. But still, she takes the time out to talk to the press and answer some ANTM-related questions.

Now that the show is over, what is life like?

When I first got home, I couldn’t sleep. I kept waking up early. I guess because I was used to waking up so early on the show. Also, I was extremely bored when I got home. I went back to work as a delivery driver, but somebody hit me while I was driving my car. So I don’t have a car anymore at the moment.

How did it feel watching the ANTM season unfold?

It kinda sucked. For a while there, I didn’t think I was being portrayed in a positive manner. I was being made out to be the bitchy one.

At first you didn’t see much of me at all; I was a little bummed out about that. But I just wish I could take back a lot of the bitchy things that I did. I really didn’t get along with a lot of girls in the beginning because I was trying to hard to be noticed and to get people to like me.

What advice do you have for girls who are trying out for next season?

When you are applying, you have to really put yourself out there to get noticed. The same thing as in the house, I guess. They said that’s why I got eliminated, because my personality was dwindling. You don’t have to be loud and over the top; you have to be confident and be an open book.

What is the best beauty tip you learned from Tyra?

Take care of your skin and wash off your makeup. Especially because we use so many different kinds of products, you want to take care of the foundation of your face, and that’s your skin.

What about makeup?

False eyelashes! I had always liked them, but I never wore them a lot before the show. They are awesome if you want to pump up your makeup and your eyes. Not really big ones like Marilyn Monroe’s, just little individual ones will work.
