Actress Helen McCrory, who will be playing Narcissa Malfoy in the next film installment of Harry Potter, had an interview in the Independent up today in which she talks about filming Half-Blood Prince:
“I’m looking forward to it. It’s unusual to have such a successful film only starring British actors. I have really started to enjoy the craft of film acting. I do a lot more film and television now than theatre. The difference between screen and stage is that in theatre it’s tangible whether someone can act or not. I’ve worked with people, who will remain nameless, where a film scene has had to be cobbled together from a whole day’s worth of takes because the actor is []. They can’t remember the lines; if they do remember the lines, they can’t remember the moves. In the final project, they will look great, because the director will cut the film for them. In theatre, you can’t employ someone who can’t remember their bloody lines. That’s the difference,” she says.

Helen was originally picked to play the part of Bellatrix Lestrange, but she was pregnant and couldn’t do it (actually, I like Helen, but I think Helena Bonham Carter did such a fantastic job that the whole thing was providential!).
Are you kidding me?! NO, NO, NO! I know this woman is a tremendous actress and will no doubt convey Narcissa’s aura flawlessly, she simply doesn’t have the look. There is only so much you can do with blue contacts and a blond wig.

I am so g’damned sick of hearing people talk about this casting decision like the casted some frickin drag queen. She is beautiful and has the malfoy look about her, that is why they casted her, Joely, Naomi, Alison and whoever the hell else everyone is pulling out their arse, look to fricken nice to be her- you dont know what she’ll even be like yet so spread this why dont ya- SHUT UP ABOUT IT.
I would like to apologize for venting the way I did and repectfully say that I was not singling anyone out-it just makes me sad to know that people cant give her a chance. Come on lets open our minds a little more than that- Im actually quite shocked that these are Harry potter fans you would think after all this fiction you could imagine a good actress as a character in a book, its not that hard regardless of what YOU want.
i have been really pleased with the casting so far, i have to believe David Yates knows what he’s doing! (i think he’s directing!)

the only thing i don’t like is the way they have put her hair in the pictures so far with the darker colour on top
i always imagined her with bright blonde, long and wavy hair
and they could dress her a little sexier, i don’t really like the long coat lol, but it is up to the directors they have done a great job so far, so why should we doubt them?
i’m sure she will do a great job though,
and btw i am sooooooo glad Helena BC got the part of Bellatrix, she is just AMAZING!! exactly if not more than i ever imagined or wanted her to be like

i think she will be the bst in the next harry potter movies iv seen in more than movie and i think she will fit to role perfectly just because she is not as pretty as you people might want her to be. i think she will do a really good job as narcissa.
