CBS has ordered up 13 episodes of a new police drama tentatively titled Flashpoint. The drama centers around and elite Strategic Response Unit (SRU) in a major US (hey, that looks like Canada!) city.
Here’s how they describe it:
Flashpoint is an emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of cops in the SRU (inspired by Toronto’s Emergency Task Force). It’s a unique unit that rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs, climbs the sides of buildings and talks down suicidal teens. Members of a highly-skilled tactical team, they’re also trained in negotiating, profiling and getting inside the suspect’s head to diffuse the situation to try and save lives.
The series stars Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars’ dad), Hugh Dillon and David Paetkau and Ona Grauer. Supernatural fans may known Grauer as the Crossroads Demon who made Dean that awful deal in return for Sam’s life.
The show was originally developed for Canada’s CTV and will begin production in Toronto in April.
Love Flashpoint. Am crazy over Hugh Dillion is a great actor even though Flashpoint was the first thing I have seen him in am looking for other programs he has done. Just ordered DVD of Durhman Country can not wait till it arrives. Keep up the good work Hugh and Flashpoint.
