This just won’t go away! David Archuleta‘s father is getting some really bad press over his alleged treatment of the American Idol contestant. This video is so mean that it was almost funny. Do you really believe Jeff Archuleta withheld water from David? Wow…

Young David A. is the Greatest entertainer since American Idol started. He sings with feeling, great voice and just being HIM is refreshing and wonderful. I have never seen a performer with his talent not be egotistical. He is GREAT, and will be one the GREATS of all time. Thanks for being you David.
LOL…he wil be great at some upbeat pop songs but he never does them, kind of frustrating and as you said boring but he has the fan base to win and the judges behind him. I just hope his album is not all ballads…ugh!
How about LEARN TO FINISH A SENTENCE. He can’t even talk. Geez… Some American Idol. And how boring can one person be. I like ballads..and the first 10 were ok..but can he do ANYTHING ELSE? WHAT A SLEEPER!!!!!!!
doesn’t everyone have habits? so what if he licks his lips?!? i was jasmine in alladin and singing in front of a croud does make your mouth go dry. they are really blowing this whole dad thing out of proportion!!
I have listened to and enjoyed David’s singing very much, as I said I think he’s amazing but its not just me, thousands of posters are noticing him licking his lips and find it distracting. I agree, I would be licking my lips too if I sang in front of anyone, and I mention it only because if its that noticeable its something he needs to check.
I think it’s very weird that someone would complain about David licking his lips. You try singing in front of 30 million people and see if your mouth doesn’t go dry. Maybe if you listened to the music instead of standing in judgment, you’d enjoy the performance more.
I hope David’s father is not like they’re saying he is, however somebody needs to tell David to stop licking his lips. I’ve heard it talked about all over and it’s very distracting. It could very well be from nerves though. He needs to check that. Otherwise he’s amazing.
You know, TMZ (ugh I know) did a story on this on their show yesterday and to me, there was nothing factual to support how big of a deal they are making it out to be. They even went as far as saying that David’s father is so bad that AI had to move his seat. I really don’t think that part is true but as we all know TMZ likes to try and start things up and then add fuel to the fire. They also “reported” that his dad was very upset with him for forgetting the words last week but when they showed his dad at that part, he was NOT doing anything to substantiate their claims. So personally I think all of this is just a ploy to taint Davids character and exploit him. That IS TMZ nitch. I bet by the end of the season they will do a story on how false the accusation were and that they first reported it but now find it untrue. They do that ALL the time and it’s sickening b/c they are the ones who start the rumors then act like they are saints trying to clear it up.
Whether or not the stories about David and his dad are true or not, it’s really none of our business. If it is true, it’s sad for David but what can we really do about it? If it’s not true, I hope David and his dad sue the pants off TMZ.
