Following quickly on the news yesterday that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, her boyfriend/baby daddy Casey Aldridge could actually be guilty of statutory rape. Here’s more:
Aldridge, 19, could face up to ten years in jail if he is convicted, plus possible hard labour.
The baby was said to be conceived in Spears’ home state of Louisiana, where someone can only legally consent to sex at the age of 17. If the person is 15 or 16 then the other person they consent to have sex with must be no more than two years older than them for it to be legal.
If the child was conceived in California, where Jamie Lynn lives while she records TV show Zoey 101, Aldridge would also face possible charges.
The Penal Code in California states that if someone engages in a sexual act with someone under the age of 18 and who is not more than three years younger than them, then they could be sent to a county jail for up to a year.
However, Jim Hammer, Californian criminal defence attorney, said: “If Aldridge is actually more than three years older he could be up for a felony, which carries a maximum three years in prison.”

okaii in my eyes its not rape cuz she was willing but thing is its her life im not getting hurt by wat she does and its her decisions if shes happi den let her be but if shes not den she should have thought about it…..im pretty sure dat she hates wen ppl compare her to her sister because she’s doing alot better den her at the moment im jus saying give her a brake its her life her decision let her do wat she wants to do i mean who knoes how long shes been sexually active…adults cant act like if at one point in dee life dey havent done something close to dis….elders arent exactly angels its sad how im 16 and somehow i think i make more sense den others

Its Not Jamie Lynns fault that she made a mistake she oviously hadn’t of thought before she went. If She Is willing to have the baby and looks after her/him they will be ok and oviously if she didn’t want the baby she would have gave it up by now and she hasn’t.
Im sure Jamie and her boyfrind knew what they were doing, but they were late to act right and thaught about what was going on in that same moment. Britany Spears is a little i guess missing some screws but we move on jamie and Britany realized their mistakes and now they are suffering the conssequenses, but not only that they will soon learn from it, and Jamie Im sorry you decided to screw up your life but im sure is not as screwed up as your sister but yall get it together. One question if you are pregnant, are you going to keep the baby?
You know it’s funny how people say her mother should have this, or her sister should have that.
First of all these kids these days don’t listen/ They get to be a teenager and think they know more than people who have been on this earth longer than they have. I was wise enough to know as a teenager that there was no way I kew better about anything than my mom or anyones else older than me. So I pretty much listen to what I was told to do. That being said….. It probably is a little hard to control your own child if they make more money than you do and your pretty much living off of them. I’m still trying to figure out, what happened to birth control talks when your mom takes you to get the pill ect. and so on. Do mothers not do that anymore?

thats gay! let Jaime live her life the way she wants too! If she wants to bang a 19 year old then let her, because that should be their decission not the laws! =) so he should deffinatly not be found guilty. Especailly because their going out, just leave them alone because if they didnt love eachother maybe they wouldnt have done that but its true love so leave them be!!!!!!!!
The boyfriend should not be found guilty. The media is just trying to take the attention off Bush, and sway it to a a couple in love who are having a baby. They shouldn’t compare her to her sister when i’m sure shes nothing like her!!!!If she is, the only person that should have the right to judge her is herself. I dont agree with her decision, but whatever makes her happy!!!!

They never think about the people around them before they throw cautions to the wind. Imagine how spears’ mom must be feeling. 3 grandkids now.
Where is the Mom in all this. Britney is all screw up. Britney should have never married and NO kids. And now her sister at 16, How dumb is she.. I guess like mother like daughterS.. And NO Jamie boyfriend should not be guilty. Jamie should have known better, open your eyes look at you sister mess up…That should have told her right there “don’t be a big screw up like my sister”
