Fans were outraged this week that during the season finale of the OC (Episode 325) Marissa Cooper (Played by Mischa Barton) seemed to die in a car accident. Some fans are so upset they started a petition urging the producers and writers of the Fox TV show to have Marissa be in a coma, not be dead and perhaps come back next season.
If you don’t want Mischa leaving the OC sign the petition.

This is completely off topic but i was watching series two last night, and does anyone else think that Caleb Nichol was an awesome character, obviously he was supposed to be the shows Mr Nasty but i think deep down he was not such a bad ass.

marissa and ryan were skank and thug magnets. they always end up doing stupid things like get into fights and shooting someone. and then marissa acts all like shes the victim. i think marissa has bipolar disorder cus one minute shes happy and then another minute shes sad or angry.
i read on the official site that mischa is taking a year off to take acting lessons in england. i think thats good for her cus she needs it, i saw her in a movie where she was suppose to be able to talk to dolphins and man she was pathetic.
i like seth i think hes cute and definitely the main star of the show and i think ryan should just go back to chino cus he belongs there and cant fit in cus he just brings trouble to sandy and kirsten and seth. but i also think seth is gay and is secretly in love with ryan hahaha!

Some of us anti-Mischa/Marissa are also going to start a campaign to keep Mischa Barton off of The O.C. because plainly as any normal minded human being can attest that she sucks as Marissa and as an actor.
We are open to the idea of having Marissa’s character brought back to life, if and only if another actress takes Mischa Barton’s place, and if and only if, she has a limited role. The O.C. is not about a sick, pathetic, demented young woman who wrecks hers, her mothers, her friends, her boyfriends, her surrounding’s lives.
So please stay tuned and we will have our own campaign to keep Mischa Barton OUT of The O.C. or be REPLACED!

Well, your name just proves my point: You definitely are not part of the “normal minded human being” Ha Ha! I am free to comment on this site just as anyone is free to comment on other sites bashing the very Queen of your Oz, Mischa Barton.
Oz is where you should go for all your utopian needs. Our anti-Mischa Barton/Marissa Cooper campaign is growing and we will have more signatures for petition to make sure she does not come back unless Marissa is comatosed or Mischa is replaced with a better actress.
Keep in mind, we do not harbor any ill feelings for Mischa Barton personally, since she is a beautiful young woman, but her performance is not to par with the rest of the cast of The O.C.
The O.C. will live long and will posper without Marissa!
Killing Marrissa was stupid! There is no OC without Marrissa! You might aswell kill Seth, Ryan and Summer just to top it off! What was the point in killing her off?! Its just going to make the show less popular!

As much as it sucks, I think that they really killed her off. All the websites that I have found say that she dies, even the fox website says she does. If you go to the episode guide for season 4, the very end the recap says “The car explodes and Ryan lays Marissa down on the pavement and rouses her. He tells her he’s going to get help, but she begs him to stay. And then she dies.” I don’t think they would have flat out said that she dies if she wasn’t really dead.
Anyway, I don’t think it was the brightest thing for them to do because the whole show has always been based around the 4 of them. I think that if they wanted to kill her off, then they should have just ended the show all together because all they have done now is have 3 good seasons, piss off all the die hard OC fans and KILL their ratings for season 4. People may watch the first couple of episodes just to see if she’s “really dead or not” but after that I have a feeling that the ratings will quickly dwindle.
But … that is just my thoughts on the finale.
I know its hard to believe but it is all in good faith. The producers arent going to hurt their show on purpose, it was for the best for the show and for ratings.
A lot of people complained about how the writers just basically wrote her character out of the show because of O.C. fans complaining how annoying Mischa Barton was and so the writers just built her character up to a point of suicide and killed her off because they were probably as annoyed with Mischa as others were.
Please you people just need to support The O.C. on its 4th season and you will see, you will forget about Marissa aka Mischa and fall in love with the show once again even if they bring a new character in with better acting skills, which shouldnt be hard.

the oc does rock, it by far one of the best dramas since 90210, but mischa barton is a horrible actress, she left the show on her own because she didn’t want to be labeled a teen brat like all these other washed up singers and actors that have 15 mins of fame, you should continue to watch the show because it is good writing and it is based on one kid and that is ryan, not marrisa! she brought the show down in the 3rd season, enough of the drunk kids and rich ones, you should be supporting the fact that the show is about that kid on the other side of the tracks who lives real life, not some spoiled ass , ahow me some attention rich kid!!!! so get a fuckin life, if your true oc fans you will support no matter if not then watch the teeney bopper crap!!!

4myrium, it may be just for mischa/marissa fans but really mischa/marissa fans have to be told the other side as well just as anti-mischa/marissa fans have to be told of the good side of the actress… but we just can’t seem to think of any.

Things didn’t look to good for oc fans when rumors started that Mischa Barton was leaving the oc. She said “I’m going back to film” says Mischa “It could go against me to be in a long running show”. She’s landed roles in 3 upcomming movies, but she won’t be putting Marissa to rest anytime soon. Everyone on the show has a six-year contract, according to a Fox rep. Whew!
I used to be such a fan of Mischa Barton but i have to admit ive become slightly disillusioned.People have been whining about Marissa since the show began,but i love the character and the show would have been dull without her, without Marissa we would have had to put up with Ryan dating idiots like Lyndsey for an entire three series’.But Mischa Barton? what is she playing at? i saw her on the Friday Night Project and she was obviously just there to provide eye candy, maybe she’s been hanging around with Paris and or Nicole too much, but she is fast turning into a wannabee. Where is the Mischa we know and love?
I`m really upset about the notice that marissa leave the show, and when a saw the last episode a coudn`t believe it, because is the only show that I can watch in my country Guatemala, so if the production can really know that the show is the best, please Mischa come back!!!!!!!!!!!!
