I’ve heard rumblings of this, but I still can’t seem to believe it’s true. Several sources have now claimed that Jennifer Lopez has asked Tom Cruise to be godfather to her twins. One source says she “persuaded her husband Marc Anthony to give Tom the role despite their differences in religious beliefs.”
Jen and Marc are Catholic, and as we all know,

Tom is a Scientologist.
Maybe it’s the gift giving that persuaded J-Lo to offer Tom the job. After all, Tom and Katie gave the twins a big party, a big fish tank, and a whole lot of clothes and DVDs to welcome them to the world. Although, I can’t imagine Jen would be swayed by gifts, when she’s pretty much got millions herself.

This whole story sounds weird to me. I am waiting to hear from a rep that says it is or isn’t true. I am very curious though.

It seems odd that this would happen. tom is such a devout Scientologist and there’s nothing Catholicism has in common with it. Very strange indeed. I look forward to finding out more about this rumor….
