In his next move to improve his image with the public, Isaiah Washington has hired one of Hollywood’s top gay PR representatives, Howard Bragman.
A spokesman says, “Our work with Isaiah is about his future, not the past. There is an important dialogue in our society about diversity that needs to happen, and Isaiah is uniquely positioned to be the catalyst for this.”
Well, best of luck to Isaiah on this.

Ok, this isn’t about Isiah Washington but i didn’t know were to post it.
I read on Spoilerfix that Callie has something i common with Paris Hiltton.
Ahh Isaiah….
What to do with you?
On the one hand, we have the infamous temper tantrum complete with homophobic slur and accompanying apology.
Then we have the retraction of said apology at the Golden Globes.
Then, yet another apology (following censure from the execs at ABC), and a one week stint in outpatient “rehab”.
Meantime, it is stated by numerous Hollywood lesbians that you are not in the least homophobic, followed by the hiring of a gay P.R. guy. What is one to make of all this?
I hope that he is indeed sincere. I agree with his new P.R. guy that he is in a unique position to help educate people and promote a dialogue. But will he really follow through?
Only time will tell. It would be nice if something really good came out of all this turmoil & strife.
So here’s hoping that perhaps through this unfortunate episode, he has discovered a way to help educate and unite people. I know he’s just an actor, but it’s always nice when you can combine doing something for the good of humanity with your job.
Just look at the difference it made when Audrey Hepburn drew attention to the plight of children in impoverished and war torn nations through her work with UNICEF.
Isaiah, I’m pulling for you here – please don’t let me down!
Yeah, I’m trying to remain optimistic about this.
Isaiah Washington, Dr. Burke. Why would you hire someone to talk for you? It is quite simple, BE NICE! No name calling, no butting in line, no stealing someones dolly, or taking a playmates candy, It is basic kindergarten stuff.
As for Callie? Do you think it might be a sex tape?? Unless something to do with a DUI?? Sex tape would be funner (is that a word)
I really wish this whole thing would just be over, im so sick of hearing about it.
i have to say this whole issue is ridiculous. if someone called you a bitch and you happened to want to tell someone else, no one would start a useless disruption if you were to say ’she/he called me a bitch. i just think it’s ridiculous to cause this much turmoil over isaih saying he didn’t call his coworker a faggot. that doesn’t mean that he uses the word to refer to anyone in his daily conversations; i just think he was simply refuting what was said and EVERYONE AND ANYONE used this as an excuse to trample and slander his reputation/character and it’s disgusting. i want it to be known this is my first ‘blog’ and this situation compelled me to respond in his or anyone’s defense.
and to respond to an earlier blog. good has come of it when he tried to say that he didn’t commit this offense but of course that’s not news worthy nor blog worthy. people want drama and if they don’t get it they will create it. it’s sad. and then he tried to apologizing (which i don’t think he hand any moral responsiblity to do since he was just refuting his involvement) and still people don’t want to understand. good is there if people would stop trying to make it bad.
This doesn’t have to do with this topic but i want to post it on all of the comment sections.
ON MARCH 15 GREY’S ANATOMY IS ON AT 8:00 AND UGLY BETTY IS ON AT 7:00. THERE IS A NEW PILOT AT 9:00. I AM NOT SURE THAT THIS WILL LAST BUT JUST TRY TO REMEMBER SO YOU DON’T MISS IT.
Stop Hating on Isiah.
What about Ann Coulter??
She uses the ‘F’ word to describe Sen. John Edwards and Ex-Vice President Al Gore, but we will let her get away with it because she is….
yeah I thought so.
Angela: Get your head out of your ass. Isaiah has admitted he used the word, that’s what made his Golden Globes statement so unfortunate. Indeed, using hate speech toward anyone of any race, sex or gender is moral grounds for an apology. Where you raised in a barn?
Ria – get your panties untied from that perpetual knot they seem to be in. No one here is “hating” on Isaiah. In fact all recent comments from myself and most others, including our very own Ingrid, indicate nothing but support of his current actions and hopes that good comes out of what has occurred.
That said, you are dead on about that nasty piece of work, Ann Coulter. Why this woman is allowed to go on spreading hate in a public forum is beyond me. I’d like to see her and that former NBA star, Hardaway left together on a desert island somewhere to rot.
Most of us, when we get into an argument say things we don’t mean, would take back if we could, but say them to hurt the person we are arguing with without even thinking, its just human nature.
If you haven’t, then you’re a better person then most of the rest of us humans.
Give the guy (Mr. Washington) a break.
Richard,
Mr. Washington has indeed been given the break you request by his employers, the general public and most people commenting here. Now let’s just hope he makes the most out of this opportunity.
You are SO correct that people say things in anger that don’t always connect with how they really feel. However, that does not always excuse what was said. And sadly for Mr. Washington, when you compound on that original statement by retracting your apology on an international stage, there are consequences.
He is indeed lucky to have a further chance, not only to keep his job, but to prove himself a good man as well.
It’s unfortunate – most of us don’t have as high a price to pay for our mistakes – but then, most of us are not public figures on a hit TV show. Comes with the territory.
