In his continued efforts to make amends to the gay community for the offensive name-calling that eventually led to him being fired from Grey’s Anatomy, actor Isaiah Washington has made a very generous donation to the Equality California fund.
Equality California is working toward stopping an anti-marriage amendment currently in the works.
This donation comes on the heals of openly gay sports and entertainment publicist Howard Bragman’s request to his peers that they donate to Equality California. Looks like a lot of people have taken his request to heart and opened up their wallets to the cause.
Isaiah Washington’s donation was confirmed by Bragman himself: “Chuck and I were very touched by his generosity and his support of this cause, and we expect many other high-profile contributions. He said he wishes us all the best and he supports the rights of others in our community to get married.”
It’s nice to see Isaiah Washington getting some positive press. Looks like he’s come a long way in his beliefs. Who knows, maybe someday we’ll get to see Dr. Burke on Grey’s Anatomy again. Not that I’m holding my breath on that, but it would still be nice to put that ugly mess behind us.

I’m sure he didn’t donate for the press. He has been supportive of personal choices, gay, straight, black/white,etc. His use of the “FaG” comment was made instead of “flunkie” – Being an adult with A.D.D. (which many in this industry are) has people speaking before thinking, and knowing the consequences of the slip. So sorry that a couple of the cast jumped on it like they never made a verbal blunder before…Those “holier than thou” people need to take a look in the mirror and know everyone one is capable of saying things they regret 2 seconds later. That’s why people make mistakes – to learn from them.
Just bring him back to the show…please…make our life bright and shiny again…

I am still hoping on that Dr.Preston Burke will come back for Christina on Season 6, that will be a real dramatic twist and unexpected outcome.
Kind of disappointed after Season3 the wedding Dr. Burke was gone. For me to keep on tracking for Season 6, I wish to see Dr. Burke back~
