We were pretty sure we’d get a 5th season of Medium, but until the official announcement came out…well, networks don’t always do the sensible thing. So, I am delighted to report that Medium will be back next season, although it is once again not scheduled into a fall slot like other shows. Betty gave the heads up that she saw the news on E. I saw it on IF Magazine’s site. IF Magazine has some lovely things to say about Patricia Arquette and calls Medium reliable.

Yippee!1 I saw that too, Katelyn, but I didn’t want to steal your thunder. I knew that NBC would renew it. It was just a matter of NBC making it official. Nevertheless, it is fantastic news anyway.
And I loved what the guy at iF Magazine said about Patricia. That is SO true. It’s just nice to hear that someone else recognizes it too.
UUGG they’re moving it to Sundays! I hate that.
Delighted its back but being English, I just have to hope BBC sign it up again now. And season 4 which is probably still a few months away here! Great news.

My fear is that NBC will treat Medium like Las Vegas – announce they are happy with the numbers it is getting in it’s time slot – after moving it around the schedule, abbreviating it’s 4th season, giving it a 5th season that is also abbreviated, and then dumping it with a big cliffhanger.
I sure hope Medium can continue on to many more seasons – I want to see all of the Dubois girls grow up, graduate, and get married! Ha!
We need to see Scanlon find happiness (hopefully with someone other than Deputy Doll) and have a kid himself.
There are many more stories to be told and I will be watching and listening! Hear THAT NBC?!

I love Medium and I am so happy it will be back on, but not on Sundays. I already watch Cold Case, Desprate Housewives and Dexter. I will just have to get another DVR!!!! I love the relationships on Medium, they are so REAL!

We’re hoping to see Medium move to Monday nights when one of the new shows flops. That usually is what happens.
That’s great news, it’s one of my favourite shows
because it depicts famly life in a realistic way like no other series I can think of. Besides, the scripts are always good, really looking forward to the next season.

Wow, this is really great news. Im so happy to hear that there will be a 5th season. I cannot wait until it comes out. NBC def. needs to continue with the seasons, and i am most def. the Number 1 fan:)
Just finished the last episode on the Season 4 series set and I’m already sniffing around looking for Season 5 news.
I can never watch Ghost Whisperer again because the reality of Medium has spoiled me so much. What other serious show on TV features a character (Joe) who walks around in boxers and scratches his butt? I also delight in the fact that the DuBois family eats the same exact Kroger generic cereal that my family eats and that they’ve gotten harrassed by creditors while struggling to figure out how to deal with real-life stuff in between the paranormal happenings. Best. Show. Ever.

@Emily, There was a little snippet in the Radio Times that season 5 would be shown on the Sci-fi, not the beeb.
That seems to be the way things are going, I mean House just moved to Sky1, following Lost and 24 that moved from terrestrial to cable and paying tv. Great if you have access to it, not so great if you don’t!
I don’t see why the BBC would drop it, other than part of their cost cutting ventures. I mean they’ve been airing repeats early Saturday morning of season 1 and 2.
Thanks Linda, I can’t beleive the BBC would drop it. Fortunatly I do have sky tv so I can watch it on Sci Fi whenever it comes back on, I just hope they show medium season 5 over here soon. Silly decision to drop such a fantastic show. Does this have anything to do with the digital switchover too?

Emily, I believe so! Maybe.. it’ll come to the BBC after Sci-fi. I doubt it though. I’m sure if they showed Medium earlier as supposed to 11pm-ish, they would get more people watching. I hadn’t heard of Medium until I was channel-hopping one night last year.
I’ve already seen season 5, not patient enough to wait. I don’t have sky either. Season 4 is out on dvd on Monday, added it my lovefilm account to see if it has extras!
Probably comes down to money, not the digital switchover. My region switches in November.

I just spoke to SCI FI and apparently they have no plans to show Medium season 5! Leaves me wondering if people in the UK will even get to see the next series!
According to an article on Digital Spy (main tv page), it’s been poached by Living. They’ll show it from September.
As I don’t have Sky, I know nothing about Living and whether that’s a good move or not. I guess one major difference will be adverts.

Thanks again Linda, I have sky so I really hope they do show it on there or any other channel I don’t mind Im just praying it doesnt get cancelled. Theres a rumour theres going to be a season 6. There always repeating them on sci fi throughout the week so i can’t understand why sci fi will not be showing season 5. Living is a good channel they show things like ghost whisperer, charmed, CSI that kind of thing.
Well, it’s been shown in Ireland, so we’ll probably get a dvd release sometime around this time next year going by season four’s release.
There’s definitely a season 6. It’s starting in September this year with 22 episodes supposedly as opposed to the 16 and 19 and January start in past seasons. YAY!
I guess I’ll obtain it through other means, I don’t like doing that, but least I have an excuse now.
What do you like about the show? I really started watching for the family aspect and the fact it was a little different. I mean I watch nothing else paranormal,so it’s defintely the realistic, relatable family portrayal that keeps me interested. And who wouldn’t want their very own Joe Dubois!
I hope so I have seasons 2 and 3 at the min need to get seasons 1 and 4 now and then eventually 5 and 6 yay! I started watching it about this time last year, Im really into my horror films always have been, I was channel hopping one night and I caught the episode where neve campbell was guest starring in it ( and Im a huge fan of hers anyway) so I started watchin it and just got really into it. Ever since then Ive just been watchin them loads. And like you I like the family aspect of it too and the way you are always trying to solve the ending but never can! or at least I never can.
Cool, I just got season two, the region one version for a bit of a bargain! I wanted the extras! I don’t really watch horror at all – such a wimp, there’s a few bits in season 5 that totally creeped me out!

Living is starting repeats on the 8th August. They’ve got four on one night.

I saw the latest CBS promo for season 6, I wouldn’t recommend you watch it because season 5 ended on a cliffhanger and it totally talks about it and would spoil season 5 for you!
Have they filmed season 6 already? gosh that was fast! Ill not watch it then so that it doesn’t ruin it.

They just started filming season 6 this month. With it switching channels, I think we might see more promos. Just wait until you see Little Marie in season 5, she’s so adorable!
In my google alerts tonight, there were a couple of articles about Medium being picked up by Living for both 5 and 6. Supposedly, it will be repeated on virgin1 channel. I have that on freeview somewhere so maybe i will get to watch it on a tv too eventually. Watching things on my computer isn’t quite the same.

I think that’s the tv guides in the magazines out tomorrow.

oh thats a good one! where she gets posessed? yeh episode 4 i watched last night, where she wakes up in a dark alley way and thinks shes committed a murder. I get a new telly on wed so will be able to see it all in 37 ” instead of 32 lol. Im going to go and buy season 4 soon just waitin till it comes down in price. I hear theres a lot of guest stars in this season

I hear Rumer Willis is meant to be a guest star soon, and yes the cut off hand was very cringey! lol
Either amazon or play, free delivery on both, one was a penny cheaper. Good bargain in my personal opinion.
Rumer Willis isn’t until the latter episodes of season so you’ve a while to wait until her episode.

yeh agent cooper is a great character and i think hes back this week on friday! last weels ep was really good ‘a taste of her own medicine’ had the box of tissues at the end where lee came to the party and gave lynn a big hug. bless them and Joe came at the end for Allison was so sweet!

The sleep deprivation issue cracked me up. I mean after all these years. I wouldn’t mind some of that magic time Joe Dubois seems to find to be, not only a great husband and father, but also look the way he does!
My tv magazine actually had a picture of Blythe Danner, two weeks in five they highlighted Medium!
