YES!! According to the LA Times, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be split into two parts. More to look forward to!! Here’s the scoop:
After months of rumors, Warner Bros. and the producers of the massively successful movies will announce Thursday that they plan to split “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” J.K. Rowling’s seventh and final “Potter” novel, into two blockbuster films — one to be released in November 2010 and the second in May 2011.
The films will be titled, simply, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II,” according to producer David Heyman. Director David Yates, who returned for his second tour of Potter duty with “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and is quite popular with the cast, will direct both “Deathly Hallows” films, which will be filmed concurrently. Screenwriter Steve Kloves also returns and, by completion of the franchise, will have written seven of the eight films.
I love, love, LOVE that they made this decision. Deathly Hallows is just too meaty a book to try and cram into two hours! What do you think?

Very excited they decided to split it up,because everyone is right,this is one you can’t take anything away from! But I must say,I am not happy about the director. I am not a fan of David Yates,but that is just my personal opinion. Don’t get me wrong,I liked Order of the Pheonix,but it could have been better! I thought it viewed more like a made for tv movie. And of course I will watch and enjoy it to the end,just wish they would have come up with some else to direct the last ones!

agree that OotP was kinda a made for TV movie, though i would love it even if was directed by an illiterate 2 year old and was a cartoon. well…
but if glad DH will have nothing left out, and with HP Part 2, it will kind… well… be over!!!! *sniff*

still its great DH will be 2 parts, extending the harry potter craze (so i won’t be the only one in 3 years saying harry potter’s the best thing in the world) AND that everything in the fantastic book will be able to be in it!!! YAY!!!
