I agree with Linda on all aspects of Joe and Allison's marriage. That is honestly the primary reason I tune into Medium. I love the family dynamic. I love Joe and Allison. I love how cute they are together and how they actually communicate with each other, unlike other tv show couples.

I think what makes them so amazing is because the characters are based off of real people whose marriage is a great one.

I did add American Gothic to my online dvd rental service but supposedly the episodes are all in the wrong order so I'm in no rush to get see it.

I do love the portrayal of Allison and Joe, it's nice to see a depiction of marriage where you know the writers won't turn to an affair, just to keep it interesting...not! They can be cranky with each other but we know they'll compromise.

I'm always amazed at how they manage to make the dream sequences, pillow talk novel after so many episodes. The scenes where they catch up on their days drinking beer after the children are asleep are amongst my favourites

The realistic portrayal of family life is what keeps me tuning in, Joe finding the camera in pink fur, a lived-in normal sized house where things aren't always pristine and the kids speaking like actual kids, i.e when Allison corrects Bridgette- "you don't pour good, you pour well".

I love how Joe is a devoted and involved father but also shown to be intelligent. He is in many ways the family's rock.

I have no idea how the writers would pull of Joe being possessed.
