Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles at Soapbox Derby - Interview

As I mentioned yesterday, I went to the Red Bull Soapbox Derby in Vancouver to see Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles of Supernatural compete against each other in a celebrity race for charity. Jared won the race, as you can see in the video above, although Jensen almost decided to ram into him! After the race was over, I had a couple of minutes to interview the guys:

Arieanna: Was this your first soapbox derby?

Jensen: First soapbox derby. Yeah.
Jared: Yeah.

How do you think you did?

Jensen: Well, he obviously did a lot better…
Jared: I wanna go again!
Jensen: Yeah, I’d like to do it again. Maybe get some more muscle on my team.
Jared: No brakes whatsoever.

So, I’d like to ask you a couple of Vancouver questions. First off, where’s your favorite place to eat in Vancouver?

Jared: Ohhhh
Jensen: Favorite place to eat?
Jared: Steakhouse! Last night we went to Morton’s.
Jensen: Morton’s!
Jared: We go to Morton’s and Gotham lots.
Jensen: Yeah.
Jared: Two Texas boys gotta have their steak [cute smirk]

Do you hike a lot around Vancouver?

Jensen: Not a whole lot. We work a little too much, so our downtime is pretty much spent recuperating and learning our lines and stuff like that.
Jared: I’ve done Grouse a few times. I took my dogs to UBC and kinda run around…

What’s your time going up Grouse?

Jared: Oh, like 55 or something.

That’s pretty good!

Jared: I thought I was going to die! I did it in 55, and people were passing me up! Like “Hey, there! First time today?” And I was like, “Uh, yeah, only time.”

So, if you don’t hike much, what’s your favorite outdoor activity around here?

Jared: It’s nice to jog around here! I mean, UBC grounds and just around the blocks. It’s a really pretty city. [points] It’s gorgeous today. I used to do the seawall a lot when i lived downtown. So I think doing the seawall jog is kinda awesome.
Jensen: Stanley Park’s always nice.
