It seems like the whole Jay-Z at Glastonbury controversy, in which Noel Gallagher of Oasis publically attacked the rapper, did the festival some good.
Emily Eavis, the organiser of the event claims that more and more bands are wanting to perform. “We have got the best possible line-up that we could get this year and I think Jay-Z, we’ve got a lot to thank him for, because we’ve never had so many bands wanting to play,” she said.
Apparently, they’re already planning for nest year’s Glasto, which will be their 40th anniversary. “We’re talking to lots of bands at the moment about that. We want to have a band from every year on the Pyramid Stage over the weekend.”
She continues, “And we’ll have a lot of the biggest performances on some of the tiniest stages, so we’re gonna do something really special for our 40th anniversary.”
That’s certainly interesting to know! I know that Beyonce said she also wanted to perform at Glastonbury, which I know Noel is fuming about.
