Former American Idol contestant, Jennifer Hudson, is expected to release her much-anticipated album this September!  The Oscar-winning performer’s first single “Spotlight” is set to hit the airwaves in June.  The song was written by Ne-Yo, who also co-produced it along with the Norwegian production duo, Stargate.  According to reports, other artists who will be contributing to the album include Timbaland, Robin Thicke, the Underdogs, Diane Warren and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.

“I think people will be pleasantly surprised, because it shows a side of my work that no one has heard before,” Hudson, a Chicago native, said in a statement issued by the label.

I know that I am extremely excited about hearing the kind of record Ms Hudson will be putting out.  I don’t even know what to expect, to be honest.  All the same, if you can’t wait until June for more JHud, make sure you check her out in the upcoming film Sex and the City which hits theaters on May 27, 2008!
