I talked earlier about Jennifer Lopez hosting a gala for Marian Wright Edelman, president and founder of the Children’s Defense Fund. Jennifer and Ms. Edelman also did some interviews while in Denver.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Jennifer spoke to Capitol File Magazine about “the importance of philanthropy and the power of celebrity to bring a focus to important issues such as the rights of children.” Jennifer said:
“The world is a different place for me now that I’ve had children. I want to set an example for my children on how to live their lives. You have to instill that charitable, philanthropic spirit. Be loud. Vote for your children. Vote for your nation.”
Jennifer was also interviewed on CNN and talks about using celebrity star power to bring attention to issues:
