Jennifer Lopez to Help Develop Maid in Manhattan TV Series

Jennifer Lopez At The Maid In Manhattan Premiere In Madrid

Jennifer Lopez adds another project to her busy schedule. She’s working with ABC executives to create a TV series based on her film Maid in Manhattan. According to Reuters, Jennifer will “serve as an executive producer of the hour-long comedy-drama, which has received a pilot commitment.”

Jennifer is drawing on her roots in a working class family in the Bronx to come up with ideas for the series. Reportedly a young Latina (yet to be named) will star in the series. They will also follow the plotline of the movie to some extent, in that the series will center around a maid working in New York. They are working on some different story lines to accomply this central theme.

Reuters points out that the show might be a nice addition to the network, who already has Ugly Betty. Ugly Betty, as we know, has fellow new mom and Latina beauty Salma Hayek as its exec producer.

I love this direction of new TV shows, don’t you? Can’t wait to see it on the air.

Here’s a clip from the movie. Wouldn’t it be great if Jennifer made an appearance in the TV show?

“Maid in Manhattan” TV series? Wow. I never thought that would happen. I’m definitely tuning in to see the pilot episode.

Lauren: Me, too! My husband thought this was a dumb idea, but I really like the idea.

Kind of a “Hotel” type series where they could have lots of great guest stars.

mila: I think so too. They tried to do this once before a couple years ago but it never came to be. I’m hoping this time it gets made.
