Have you checked out Jennifer Lopez’s blog over at Self yet? You should, because it’s got some great stuff. Jen is very candid about what it’s like to train for a triathalon.
“With all the different legs, I’m a little slow when I start, then I gradually pick up the pace. I start feeling good and as I’m thinking, I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine, I get faster. Not fast like I’m going to break a record time, but like, OK, I’m stronger now. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.”
I think it’s important to know that even though Jennifer is a pretty amazing inspiration, she’s human. She still needs to psych herself up in order to get going just like the rest of us.
In this clip with Self Magazine editor Lucy Danziger, Jennifer talks about why she decided to do this event, how her children inspired her, and how sports helped her get in shape. She also talks on the blog about how she used sports as a way to deal with rejection in Hollywood in the beginning.
We get to see her personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, help motivate her to do an eight-mile bike ride and two-mile run in this clip as well.
