Jessica Sierra Going to Rehab Before Court

Jessica Sierra‘s trial is being postponed so that she can get a handle on her addiction issues. Here’s the story:

Former “American Idol” finalist Jessica Sierra will go to trial in Tampa on battery charges once out of rehab.

Sierra is accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa nightspot in April. Police say she had a “small amount of cocaine” on her during booking at the county jail.

Sierra has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated battery and cocaine possession. Her lawyer said in court today that she’s in a California rehabilitation facility.

The judge rescheduled Sierra’s trial from October to November.

The 21-year-old Sierra was a top-10 contestant on the show in 2005. She entered the facility in July for treatment of unspecified problems and will likely be there for several months.
