Just when you think Jessica Simpson is making a positive impression on the country world, she appears onstage in a gingham dress and looks like she’s ready to pull out a bail of hay.
Could the dress she wore have brought on this very negative review of her latest performance in which she was called an “insult to train wrecks”? Possibly.
According to one source, “music critic John Law took Simpson to task for her disappointing show.” He caught her performance in Niagra Falls, and said:
“It might be unfair calling Jessica Simpson’s show at the Avalon Ballroom Wednesday a train wreck. At some point, a train knows where it’s going.”
One thing that put this critic off was Jessica’s “need for approval” up on stage. She seemed to talk too much between songs about previous relationships, her need for love, and what each song supposedly means to her. She’s gotten a lot of attention for talking about Tony Romo too much up on stage too.
The reporter goes on to say, “Simpson arguably brought on the harsh criticism herself, spending several minutes between songs to explain what each one was about in her trademark oblivious style.”
It didn’t help that at another point she called “Dusty Springfield” DESTINY Springfield either.
The general feeling is that critics don’t take her seriously and don’t think this latest move to country will last for the long haul. Fans will get a chance to voice their opinions when Jessica’s album comes out September 9th. Will you buy it?
