Jessica Simpson was asked the BIG QUESTION the other night during her outing in Vegas, which is “Will Ashlee be a good mother?”
Now, WHO exactly has the balls to ask that of someone’s sister? I mean, REALLY. What is she supposed to say? No?
Of course not.
Anyways, in typical Jessica form, she answered the question, then turned the focus back to herself. (Much like she did during the toast at Ashlee’s wedding.)
Jessica said, “She’ll be amazing, absolutely amazing,” as a mother.
That would have been fine if she’d have left it at that. Instead, she turned the tables to her own music, saying that Pete and Ash were “the cutest couple” and that “Just being around them inspires love and everything I sing about.”
Is it possible for Jessica just to say, “I’m totally happy for my sister with her new hubby and family. She deserves every happiness.”
Instead Jess makes sure she talks about herself, even in her sister’s moment of attention. Is it possible for Jess to be happy for Ashlee without trying to outdo her?

I think Jessica is happy for her sister just because she talks a bit about herself doesn’t mean she isn’t happy for her sister. You have to realize sometimes you don’t notice it when you begin to talk about yourself or maybe she just did it because she didn’t just want to talk about her sister. I mean sure she’s happy but even I wouldn’t focus all on it. I mean it’s not like she could tell them a story or something.
rlc: It wasn’t the most self-absorbed way, but since her sister was happy for HER when she got married and didn’t turn it back to herself, I would have thought Jess could have returned the favor. I keep rooting for Jess but when she does stuff like this it’s disappointing.
MK: Yeah, they not only have the normal sibling rivalry but being in showbiz and both in music must be hard sometimes. Even though they don’t compete many people compare them and talk about them as one item. (Like we do here! haha!) I think they DO love each other but have to live out their sister rivalry in front of the media.
I think she is getting slightly jealous since all the attention has recently been on Ashlee and not herself. I don’t think she is going psychotic about it or anything, but I imagine there is some type of jealous feelings going on. Even though they both have claimed in interviews from way back, that they have never felt as though they were competing with one another. And how much they love each other, yadda yadda yadda.
uh…so she’s a little conceited. She’s saying they inspire her so I don’t think she’s really making it all about herself or else she’d be promoting herself and saying that she as in “jessica simpson” inspires herself. So she’s not that all into herself. I mean she is talking about herself but not in the most self-absorbed way I could think of.
