Jessica Simpson’s “Desperate Hookup”?

Amidst rumors that Jessica Simpson’s ex, Tony Romo, has moved on with 22-year old Candice Crawford (sister of Gossip Girl lothario, Chace Crawford), tabloid magaine In Touch is reporting that she’s been “been secretly hooking up with her ex John Mayer.”

This rumor is in fact the cover story for this week’s issue of In Touch, touting the headline, “Jessica humiliates herself by reuniting with the man who betrayed her” and asking, “is she doing it because Nick is back with Vanessa and Tony’s flaunting a new blonde girlfriend?”

A similar story is also the sidebar headline on the cover of Life & Style Weekly, declaring Jessica, “stabbed in the heart by her ex.” Not literally, of course, because that would be…illegal.

I doubt any of this true, but as with any tabloid story, I wonder on what increment of fact this could possibly be based. What do you think, readers? Fact or fiction? And if you think its fact, how do you feel about the possible reuniting?
