In an interview with Radar Online, Jill Zarin cleared up rumors that there would be a major overhaul to the Real Housewives of New York City cast. She did hint that the Countess Luann de Lesseps may be the one who ends up being replaced:
“Bravo released a statement saying they were looking for new cast members and I think people read into that. I think the show was giving some of the original cast members a chance to deal with their personal lives. LuAnn (de Lesseps) got divorced and had to sell her townhome in Manhattan. She moved her kids out to the Hamptons permanently and put them in school out there. But I know she still wants to do the show.”
As for the pay, Jill says that there is very little. Her statement is especially interesting considering the Real Housewives of Atlanta have been prone to saying that Bravo paid them six figures o do season 2. Jill says, not even close:
“It’s such a joke what cable pays,” she said. “We’re not network, we’re not union. There’s no money in it. I’ve always said, I don’t do reality television for the money. I read a report somewhere that we were getting paid $30,000 an episode and I said, I’ll sign that contract right now! It was so not true.
