Recently I asked readers which Jennifer Lopez song was their favorite. There were many opinions, but three songs stood out from the rest.
Several of you liked “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” Which is a great song and even better video. A few you loved one of my personal favorite J-Lo songs, “I’m Real.” I love both versions of this song, the original and the remix versions.
But by far, the favorite song of all JloStalker readers was “Waiting for Tonight.” Great choice, readers! I like this song a lot, too. I think my favorite lines from this song are:
“I think of the days when the sun used to set
on my empty heart, all alone in my bed
tossing and turning
emotions were strong
I knew I had to hold on”
These lyrics convey how a lot of singles feel about waiting to find the right person. And you really can’t help hearing it without thinking about the millennium change. Remember how everyone was waiting for the year 2000? Jen did the video for the song with that in mind.
Jen did a behind the scenes special with MTV on the making of “Waiting for Tonight.”
In Part 1 she reveals that “Waiting for Tonight” was the first dance song that they picked for On the 6. The concept for the video was going to a rave for a new year’s party and having it turn out to be in the jungle. A rave in a jungle? You bet. Here’s Jen with more:
In Part 2 we get to see just how much work goes into making a video! At one point Jen is dancing on a three foot wide plexi-glass that is six feet in the air! Dangerous! My palms were sweating just watching it. They also used LASERs on this video, and at one pointing in shooting they actually burned Jen’s shoulder! Watch it here:
In Part 3, we get a look into the makeup that went into the “character” in the video. Remember all those sparkles? Here’s how they achieved it:
And finally, Part 4, along with the finished video:
She said in The Reel Me that it was just her in a studio dancing basically all day. Then they cut between her dancing and the original video. Another great remix.
