John Mayer and Ellen Sing Songs, Dance and Play Games

Did you see John Mayer on Ellen yesterday?  It was a great appearance!  It had everything you could want – dancing, singing, laughter and, of course, probing questions from Ellen!  First, he came out dancing to Lady GaGa’s hit song “Just Dance.”  I absolutely, positively adore John so I was on my couch swooning from the moment he onto the set.  They talked about the 51st Grammy Awards which took place this past Sunday.  Although, they didn’t go into it, John won in the “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” (for his song “Say”) and “Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance” (for his phenomenal song “Gravity”) categories.

He also talked about how it’s sometimes hard for him to go to Hollywood parties.  I know from being an obsessed fan that John suffers from an anxiety disorder so I’m sure that has something to do with it. 

They also played that guessing-game “Celebrity” where Ellen first holds up pictures of stars (she doesn’t look at the pics first) while her guest gives her clues about who it is.  When John had to impersonate Josh Groban (with whom Ellen had sung earlier in the show), I almost collapsed from laughter.  When it was time for John to guess, he did an amazing job (which was all the more impressive considering the fact that Ellen’s clues were not as good as his had been).

They also sang “Just Dance” together as part of Ellen’s Bathroom Concert Series.  It was really funny.  I love celebrities who are willing to poke a little fun at themselves and, if you want to be on Ellen, you better be ready!
