I’ve always loved Jordin Sparks’s song “No Air” and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she had done a duet with it with David Archuleta. As great as the original is, Chris Brown can’t follow Jordin around for all her performances, and besides ever since he assaulted Rihanna he’s not exactly the most popular guy in the world.
While hosting a special three-day event at the Edec roc Renaissance Miami Beach, Jordin did a few performances but it was “No Air” that impressed me. I wish the sound quality on the video was a bit better so we could really hear it but I love it! Archie did a great job singing with Jordin – his voice is perfect for it!
I don’t how true this is but I’ve read that he didn’t have a lot of advance notice and thus didn’t have much rehearsal time but you can’t even tell!
I’d love to hear Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta collaborate again in the future!

I wasn’t a huge fan of the song before (not a CB fan at all) but I really love this duet. They sound really, really good together.

Yes, its true David didn’t have much time to rehearse this, just a few hours. They rehearsed the night before and a bit that morning that’s it.
The evening performance is much better. David didn’t have his singing voice quite right yet in the morning, but Jordin’s voice got all raspy from all the talking she was doing in the evening.

I have to agree, David Archuleta nailed this song! He has such a versatile voice that can sing any genre! How he does it is beyond me! David you sound incredible with Jordin! Thank you!

Thanks!!! Great performance by Jordin and Archie, their voices and styles blend so well together … you have to have real talent to pull off a duet like that on short notice. LOVED it!

His musical sense is very well known. His nick name is a walking jukebox. If you say a word, he has a song for that word. He knows how to sing harmony and doesn’t overpower the other. When he had a concert for his Christmas album in Michigan, the conductor of the orchestra was impressed that David immediately adjusted to the new arrangements of the songs that were different from the original ones.

Very true. David and Jordin did not have time to rehearse the song. If the first perfomance was great the second performance that night was just as great if not BETTER!!
David NAILED it. Jordin of course was great too. They really sounded awesome together and I hope that they record something soon.
This should not come as a surprise to anyone who knows what David is capable of. When he sang the first Chris Brown song “With You” on American Idol, should have been an indication to everyone among all the other songs he covered that David has an AMAZING voice and can sing with the best of them!!
It’s safe to say that in that performance he was a bit nervous at the beginning, but the rest of the song was incredible!!
