Julianne Hough has apparently auditioned for the lead female role in the upcoming remake of Footloose. According to Entertainment Weekly, she’ll be screen-testing this week, and her chances are looking pretty good!
A Paramount spokesperson confirmed to EW that Dancing With the Stars’ Julianne Hough will screen-test this week. Hough’s recent success as a country music star could give her an advantage. Says Meron, “It’s a much more singing-intensive movie for the female lead.”
The blond beauty joins a few other actresses rumored to be vying for the part, including Hayden Panettiere and Amanda Bynes. Chace Crawford has already snagged the lead role of Ren McCormack after Zac Efron bowed out earlier this spring.
In an interview with Julianne last December, she mentioned that she’d like to try out acting — hopefully this’ll be her big break!
