Kanye West: The Meanie

I am sure at this point we all know what Kanye West did at last night’s MTV’s Video Music Awards.  If you don’t know, then what I’m about to tell you will not shock you.  Kanye West and his inflated ego have struck again.  And this time it was country music’s teen queen, cute as a button, sweet as sugar, singing sensation Taylor Swift who bore the brunt of his wrath.

A very shocked and very elated Taylor Swift excitedly jumped on stage to accept her first ever moonman for Best Female Video only to be rudely interrupted by the Dark Lord himself, Kanye West.

“Taylor, I’m really happy for you.”  He said.  “I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

So, that is what was so important that you found it necessary to humiliate and devastate a sweet young girl in front of millions of viewers all around the world?  Stupid, yes.  Shocking, no.  This is Kanye West, after all.

This is the same man who after losing to country songstress Gretchen Wilson for Best New Artist at the 2004 American Music Awards, stormed out of the ceremony, gathered a group of reporters and fumed to them about how he “got robbed” and ” is the best new artist of the year” and the best of all time and it’s not fair that someone other than him won and that he is a big boy and doesn’t like to share and wants his binky and he went poopie in his diedy and is cranky because he wants to go night-night.

Kanye, let me break this down for you in a way that only you can understand.  You are a meanie.  A big one.  And a bully.  And I hope you feel at least a little bit like a loser when a nineteen year old girl and a newbie to the industry shows you just what class, maturity and professionalism are all about.  It seems you’re having a hard time figuring it out how to be successful and not be a total douche bag. So, pull up a chair and grab your pencil, Kanye, because there is a lesson to be learned here, and it begins with this question.
