Well, this news sort of involves Hilary Duff so I wanted to share it. Kara DioGuardi, who worked with Hilary on a few singles, has been added to American Idol as a 4th judge for the upcoming season!
Kara Dioguardi has worked with Hilary on "With Love", "Come Clean", "Someone’s Watching Over Me", "Most Wanted" and various others – she was a part of 12 songs on the latest album, "Dignity", co-writing the songs with Hilary. Kara DioGuardi is a co-writer on every song on the album except "Outside of You" and "Gypsy Woman." Hilary says she enjoyed working with Kara because she liked her work on melodies.
This season, in an aim to make some changs, 4 judges will sit on the panel. Kara DioGuardi joins Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson as a regular judge for American Idol. The producers are hoping the change will make the show more interesting and "sexier", says Jackson. Kara is opinionated and spunky, and already contributing to the fun dynamic of the judging (NYC tryouts just happened).
Kara DioGuardi is a songwriter, record producer and singer who works mostly in the light pop-rock genre. She has been nominated for many Grammy’s and has had songs recorded by artists from Celine Dion to Kelly Clarkson, and Hilary Duff too! You can see who else she’s worked with here.

I’m so happy for her.:] She is an amazing person and this will help her get some limelight.Plus since writes so many great songs for so many great artists.Plus from her view as a musician/sonwriter/producer she will really easily be able to spot talent.Plus she will be a more honest female judge too:](I love Paula,but she’s too nice at times) And as immature as this is,I’m doing this cause I never got to do it before,FIRST!;)
