Karrine Steffans is armed and ready to go head-to-head with Tyra Banks on Tyra’s talk show on Monday. Looks like there’s quite a bit of drama stirring between the two, ever since Steffans was interviewed by Tyra.
Vibe has the details:
As reported in the New York Daily News on Sept. 20, Steffans says that she and Banks are not that different. Steffans told John Salley and Ananda Lewis, on their L.A. radio show, “I heard they call Tyra ‘Hollywood Hop” for the many men in Hollywood who have bedded Tyra and moved on.”
Steffan’s remarks on Salley’s show was round two of the cat fight between she and Banks, and came after being interviewed for the Tyra Banks Show. Steffans, who is now reportedly dating Bill Maher, stated that Banks dissed her during the interview, and that she was ready to pull her wig off.
Ha! Must See TV right there.

Tyra just says wat she thinks! Karrine cant expect to go on shoes and people be like “good on you, girl!” Tyra gives interesting interviews instead of being fake and if she doesnt agree with the interviewee, she says so! The audience can make up their own mind.
Tyra ,made the point about the front cover of the book, and how Karrine’s son would see it and be like “that’s my mom”, if Karrine wanted to be a bit classier, she could have not put her big photo on the front, and done it how the book confessions of an ex call girl is!But then again, Karrine just wants more and more fame…
Trya was jsut being a bitch. She was jealous or just being a hater. Regardless of the reason why Karrine wrote the book it was a good book, and it made me not want to be a video girl.Im 17 years old and Tyra always talks about helping young teenage girls…so Tyra peep game, Karrine may have wanted money (which is why she dropped names) but I think she also had good motives too. Shit the artists shouldn’t have done it. The should’ve known one day somebody was gon say somethin they just dumb. Thats how I see it. I really used to look up to Tyra too. I watch her talk show, America’s next top model, and I have her book. But she can kick rocks for all I care because I hate fake females lookin for a cat fight.

THE WAY SHE TRIED TO DOG KARRINE WAS VERY RUDE, AND I KNOW THAT SHE WAS TRYING TO CALL KARRINE A HOE. TYRA ON THE OTHER HAD TRIES TO KEEP HE STUFF ON THE LOW, BUT WE ALL KNOW TAHT TYRA HAS SLEPT WITH MANY MEN. SHE OUGHT TO SHUT THE HELL UP AND FIX HER HAIRLINE BEFORE SHE START TALKING SH*T ABOUT PEOPLE. IM BEING REALLY UPFRONT WITH IT TOO.
OK Judith what interview where you watching that she praised rodman and chingy. Rodman said that he treats woman how they want to be treated. So if they are acting like a ho that is how he treats them. And Chingy said that he didn’t want a woman who was willing sleep her way up to meeting him. And as far as the woman that was married that Dennis slept with he said that her husband was there and was fine with it.
Wow! I watched the show and I agree with what Donna said. How can you give prasie to the men and not the woman. Everyone seems to be hung up on the reason why Karrine wrote the book. Who cares why she wrote the book the point is if it can reach someone in a positive light;If someone can learn from what she went through then it served a point. It kills me that people are so quick to condem her for what she did and not the man who did it with her. Ppl gettting mad b/c she named names so damn what. Everything in the dark comes to light. Thing is most of the men she named in her are 9 times out of 10 doing the something to someother women.

yea her book was a best seller but look what she had to put in it to make it a best seller. do you think people would have read a book about her and her regular life, no! this is just attention and i feel bad if you want defend your hriends because i would defend mine because this aint just start happening and it aint going to stop just because karrine started to go broke because the men she was dealing with felt she was getting outdated. celebs are shady and you wouldnt like it your life was exposed, then you would be running to your friend WISHING they would defend YOU. if you took offense to my name calling so sad it is. good your opinion is diffrent but dont get mad that i express myself and reveal a comment that i think is relevant to the situation! like syncere said she just got mad because her money ran out, and the only way she helping me or any young lady is giving me something to read about. NOW IM DONE

I was very upset with the trya show when Trya totally attack superhead for being a ho and then praised chingy and dennis rodman for treating women like crap. Yes, superhead was aho, but so are rodman and chingy. She had the right to write that book and name names, because the rappers that slept with her did not want anyone to find out, they should not have done it in the first place. And though there are alot of women who need to stop hoeing around, alot of men need to do the same thing too. Trya praising the man hoes has set the womens movement back 50 years
I understand what donna is saying about the images portrayed in these videos and I don’t want anyone to think I am intentionally being smart but how exactly do you shoot a positive video for a song with a chorus that says Shake Ya Ass Show Me what Ya Working With, Down Ass Bitch, or You can Find me in the Club Bottle full of Bubb Im into having Sex Im not into making Love.
I understand what everyone is saying. I haven’t read the book but it is on my to do list. I just want to say that both parties are wrong. First of all Karrine (superhead)yea she said that she wrote it to help younger out, but that is not the only reason. I have read many interviews that she has done since the book has been published and each town she sounds fake. She sounds like she’s just doind it to get attention. It is a lot of things that SUperhead has done that isn’t right. Don’t get me wrong, I know that those things go on on the video world, but she could have expressed in a different way. Tyra shouldn’t have attacked her like that. She asked her to come to show and she came so she should have listen to what she had to say. Just because it is her show, that doesn’t mean that she can disrespect her national TV. She has her talk show and does her thing, now let superhead do her thing even if it its’t right, or even if it stepped in Tyra toes.
In no form or fashion was Tyra hating on “ChickenHead”, I mean SuperHead. Karrine is so transparent. She seems to have some kind of mental problem because most of the men she slept with she said she LOVED them. When she became financially challenged, she decides to write a tell all book. This is all about money. Tyra simply asked questions viewers wanted to know.
No need to resort to name calling because someone expresses opinions that are different than yours.If my friends did something that I felt was inappropriate towards a woman… NO, I would not defend them. Like Karrine said, if these guys didn’t like what she said, they shouldn’t have done it. Bottom line, her book was a success ( ie top best seller NY Times list and Washington Post). I’m glad she named names! These guys shouldn’t take advantage of young women just because they can. Now maybe they’ll think about what they’re doing before they do it next time. So far as Tyra is concerned, she still did not show unbiased reporting ,as evidenced by her NON reaction to Rodman’s tell all book interview which immediately follow Karrines.
Enough said on that subject, it’s getting boring now. I’m now officially off of this blog.

I think Tyra did the same thing I would have done. 1st of all if you cant see through what Karrine is trying to do, then your not so smart. She is putting herself out there as a hoe. I have her book, and read it. I came to the conclusion that she only wants fame, and she is still the hoe she claim she WAS! 2nd, Tyra had every right to bash her , the people lives that Karrine is ruining are Tyra’s friends. DONT YOU HAVE FREINDS! DONT YOU DEFEND THEM! 3rd yea tyra talks about her sisterhood, but who says Karrine is IN her sisterhood. Her sister hood might be people that she respect and people that respect themselves. 4th I believe that if you cant see through Karrine then thats too d@*$ bad, because we all knew that stuff like that happened, well i did, but for her to come out and tell on everyone and not expect some bashing then she was just STUPID. If she wanted to be succesful then this wasnt the way, she only wants publicity, see through it, dont be DUMB!!!!

well i realy like karrine steffans she reconize what she did and isnt blaming no body but her self and i respect that i didnt like the way tyra try to put her on bash and shit.but yet couldent get like that with ms naomi campell hmmm well yeah the only reason tyra mad is cause karrine was with her man and i agree she should be mad but dont hide behind the fake smiles and crap be real with it
I do understand what everyone has written on this board but I did see the interview and I just felt like Tyra wanted her to admit she had written the book for her own purposes, call it what it is, she could have still written the same book without putting names in it, if she truly was just telling her story,then to dedicate the book to her son was sad, true, the men in the book are no better but this woman has a child and she is sittin up there glad to be a HO, and I’m not the one to judge, but I will pray for her.
CORRECTION- when women can say NO I won’t shake my ass for the world on camera, I’d rather work at McDonalds than do that…only then will then these men HAVE TO write these scripts differently.
I live here in La La Land ( aka “Hollyood”) and know a female director as well as male video directors in Hip Hop. Both confirmed that what Karrine spoke about goes on “all the time”. And they even went further and said it oes even further than what she discussed in her book. I knew these types of things were going on years ago, in the early days of Rap and hip hop when a friend of mine was featured in a video, she was not one of the expolited ones due to the fact she is too strong and secure and would walk off a set if anything of that nature was even proposed to her. Also, she was not in need of money or desiring noteriety, she jsut thought it would be something fun to do. But she saw others being taken advantage of.Easy for some to say that these YOUNG women knew what they were doing when they slept with these young men and accepted money from them. Does that that excuses these guys from having any morals and behaving properly?! Does that make it OK to take advantage of situations when ever theres an opportunity to do so…and just because you can?They do have the ability to just to do their work and act like REAL men…I would like to think that these young men are not animals who cannot control themselves! As a previous writer said, would they want their sisters or mothers being treated in the manner they are treating these women? Of course not! Some of these young women have had NO positive role models in their family to guide them and some have been products of abuse and made bad choices based on that.Others seek work in the entertainment world exclusively to validate themselves and feel better about themselves by getting attention..and/or to (try)to make a lot of money.
And again, lets not excuse these men (again men being used Very lightly by this writer!) It’s a sad state of the nation when “Hollywood” and being an entertainer of some sort is looked on as being the ultimate goal to achieve.Please! What a joke! I hope these women strive for something much larger than perpetuating sterotypes of Black women…when women can say NO I won’t shake my ass for the world on camera, I’d rather work at McDonalds and than do that…only then will then these men HAVE TO write these scripts differently. Or even Better , how about having more young black women going to school and learning how to PRODUCE and WRITE these videos in a positive manner rather than just letting these guys ( i feel much better using the word guys rather than men:-) dictate when and how high to jump! Like a woman from Essence magazine recently said in response to a hip hop artist’s silly comment about sex selling in videos so thats ok and thats why they do it and if you don’t like it don’t watch it…this intelligent woman’s response was “Crack sells too, does that make it good”
If enough women will Flip the script on these guys in hip hop and say NO, only then will change have to take place and only positive representations of Black women will be shown. It’s up to the women to make the change because as long as these guys can make money off these women…they will!
I watched the show and I don’t really see what all the hoopla is about. I don’t think that Tyra was hating. On some point I actually agree with her. Karrine is very far from stupid, and I think she knew exactly what she was doing. And the thing is if you are not ashamed as she says that she is not and all about being honest then be completely honest. Just come out and say that I wrote this book for whatever reasons and I name dropped because I wanted people to know and also because I knew it would help sell the book. Stop acting like money didn’t play any part in the name dropping. Also I have heard more than one interview with this woman and it appears that when she is telling her side of the story alone she is good but when in the presence of the other some of the other people she was a little shaky. And as far as these women being disrespected people only do what you allow them to do to you there comes a time when you have to make a decision about what you are or are not willing to do. I am so tired of people acting like she didn’t know what she was doing. She very clearly knew what she was doing when she was out there sleeping with these men and taking there money and traveling and prostituting herself to support her lifestyle and drug habit. As for the people in the book I am quite sure that they have there own demons to deal with. I am glad that she has moved on and hope that she is doing positive things and is growing as a person and an a parent. The bottom line is KARMA IS A B**CH, AND WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND EVENTUALLY YOU GET BACK WHAT YOU PUT OUT THERE WHETHER IT TAKES 10 MONTHS OR 50 YEARS. AND THAT GOES KARRINE THE PEOPLE IN HER BOOK THE PEOPLE READING THIS BOARD AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE WATCH. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!!
I MOST CERTAINLY AGREE WITH THE OTHERS. I DID NOT NOT SEE THE SHOW BUT IF TYRA DISSED KARRINE SHE WAS CERTAINLY OUT OF ORDER. WHO IN THE WORLD DIED AND LEFT HER IN CHARGE TO JUDGE ANYBODY. KARRINE JUST TOLD THE DAM TRUTH ABOUT THEM BASTARDS IN THE HIPHOP FIELD. THEY ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. MY QUESTION TO ALL OF THESE ARTISTS IS DO THEY HAVE MOTHERS OR SISTERS AND IF THEY DO WOULD THEY ALLOW SOMEONE TO EXPLOIT THEM LIKE THAT. I totally agree with both of you guys! Tyra was so out of line to get Karrine on her show to basically humiliate and degrade her. Tyra is not perfect so why is she judging Karrine? I had total respect for Tyra until she did this to Karrine. I dont agree with many of the things in her book but it is the truth and it’s about time someone spoke out about rappers exploiting women.
