Reportedly, Katie Holmes took “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” co-star Bailee Madison to see the theatre to do some girl bonding. She took her to a matinee performance of “Wicked” there in Melbourne, Australia where they are filming the movie.
Katie plays Bailey’s mom in the film and according to a “source”, Katie has really taken Bailee under her wing.
The source said, “Katie has taken Bailee under her wing. She knows what it’s like to be young and to be working on a film set so she’s been looking after Bailee as best she can.
“The trip to the theatre was a special treat. They sneaked in a back way so that they wouldn’t be noticed. They had a wonderful time. The pair get on well, and Bailee is looking forward to meeting Suri.”
Shooting for “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” is expected to movie out on location in the next few days. The stars have been reading over their lines.

I wish everyone would make up their mind about what role Katie is playing in the movie, the mother of the girl, or the girlfriend of Guy Pearce who is the girls father.
Annie, all of the reliable sources that I’ve read have said that Katie plays the girlfriend. My understanding is that the little girl’s mother dies at the beginning of the movie, so she moves in with her father and his girlfriend- who then becomes a “mother figure” to the girl.

We have a current affair show that airs every night, called This Day Tonight, and they showed the spooky mansion where they are going to film. It’s in a rural area, and the house is HUGE and SPOOKY looking , you know the type with iron gates, They interviewed some of the neighbours but they apparently have been sworn to secrecy and would’nt say much. But apparently the story goes like this..Katie is married to Guy Pearce, and they have a daughter, and Katie inherits the mansion from her grandmother and they move in and then things start to happen. So who knows , maybe the guy who covered the story doesn’t know anymore than we do, or thats the story line like he said.
Sorry I meant Guy Pearce is her partner,not her husband.
