Kate Gosselin Talks About Life After Split on Today Show

Kate Gosselin, the world’s most famous mother of eight children, was on the Today show where she talked more about what her life has been like since she and her husband, Jon, decided to file for divorce.  The family has been in the spotlight more than ever since the separation, since I think so many people are curious about what their lives will be like as single parents.

I have to admit that I haven’t been a fan of Kate in recent years and I felt like she was overly critical of Jon on numerous occasions on the show (it was really cringe-worthy) but since the split, Jon’s decision to run around with women, smoke and wear earrings and designer clothes has changed my opinion.  I was really proud of Kate when I saw her trying to do things she’s never done before (like starting a camp fire and setting up a tent) on last week’s episode.

The Today show highlighted some of these moments when Meredith Vieira sat down with Kate this morning, who said that she’s doing “as well as can be expected.”  They also talked about why Kate still wears her wedding ring.  She says she wears it for their children because she doesn’t want to upset them any more than they already are.  She said that she and Jon are two different people now with two very different sets of goals and that the marriage is definitely over.

The whole interview is very interesting – they talk about Jon’s relationships, the rumors about Kate having an affair with her security guard and how she’s been handling life after the split.
