I personally do not see what ANYONE sees in this woman!
To me she is a fraud! She took a spot on AI away from someone who really wanted to have a singing career just to get into acting/modeling.
Her voice is not memorable at all compared to Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. Sure, she is pretty and has a nice body, but there are a million other young woman out there prettier, with better bodies and who can really sing!
It seems all Katherine is doing is using her body to make money. Nice! What a great role model she has turned out to be for the young girls who idolize her. She has done absolutely NOTHING to encourage them that they do not need to wear suggestive and skimpy clothes and sell their bodies in order to make it in the industry.
I am not necessarily a Kellie Pickler fan, but she is much prettier and has a knockout body compared to Katherine, yet you don’t see her doing what Katherine is doing or pretending to be something she is not.
Katherine McPhee really is NOT that talented at all! She is just another pretty face with a good body.
I’ll take talent over that anytime!

Kat is talented as hell, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about considering, that she is modeling/acting/singing and doing charity benefits almost every single day singing for very famous people. Oh ya? Kellie Pickler got a boob job– that’s real encouraging for young girls.
Katharine is following HER dream.. just what other young people, not just girls, should do too if they got the chance.
Katharine has MANY talents, is very intelligent, classy, and absolutely gorgeous. She sings very well! That’s not to say Carrie isn’t pretty and sings country well. Both actually have prettier voices than Kelly Clarkson and Kellie Pickler, but Kellie is appealing in her own way.
I see no reason to be called names here. I did not personally call any poster names here.Is that how you defend your idol? Everyone is entitled to their opinon.
I heard her sing on AI and was not impressed. To me, her voice is not memorable.
And I think it was pretty selfish of her to take a spot away on AI when all she was really trying to to do was catapult herself into acting and modeling.
She is no more a good vocalist than the man in the moon. She is not believable when she sings and any emotions she portrays while she is singing appears very much contrived.
That is my opinion of her and I am entitled to my opinion as is everyone else.
Well, if Kat should not have taken a spot on idol, then Daughtry and Hicks should not have been on because both have said they thought the show was cheesy. Daughtry said he tried out for Roack Star and didn’t make it, tghen went for idol – whoo, second choice shouldn’t be allowed. Hicks has since claimed to be taken out of context – several times
Look, Idol is a stepping stone and after the first few years (the first 2 years no one knew if it would take or be a flash in the pan), people knew that. How can you say one person deserves to be on more than another? These are people who want a career and know what idol can do for them. I don’t begrudge anyone who gets a place on the show.
If you want to hold something against anyone, hold it against the producers and judges who put less capable people on the show for dramatic purposes.
oops, I should have noted that I am not a Kat fan, I wish her luck, but her music is not appealing to me.
