Some of you probably caught Katherine Heigl on The Late Show with David Letterman so this won’t be news to you. But for those that haven’t heard, the cast and crew is back at work on the next season of Grey’s Anatomy and Katherine Heigl is, of course, among them. Of her return to the set, she stated, “Our first day back was Wednesday and it was — I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them — a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean.”
I’m sure that comment totally endeared her to people who work for way more than 17 hours a day and don’t get paid a fraction of what she does. But we know Heigl isn’t known for editing herself well.
But what of being back? “It was actually kind of really great to be back,” she said. “All my friends are there and at this point, they’re sort of like family, but it was a little weird because [T.R.]’s not there anymore.”
In terms of spoilers, there really weren’t any. She doesn’t reveal what happens to Izzie exactly, other than saying that since she’s there one can assume that she’s “either there as a ghost, or on the other side or I survived a disease no one survives.” And my money’s on the latter because I think we’ve had enough of ghosts on this series … don’t you? She did also say it was possible that Izzie might be in a coma as well, because they would “do that to [her].”
As far as Heigl making a departure from the show sometime soon, she seems pretty invested in the two-year contract that remains, so it doesn’t sound like she’s following T.R. Knight’s footsteps any time soon. Then again, you never, ever know with this show.
I know feelings about Katherine Heigl are very mixed – you love her, you’re sick of her – but what did you think of the David Letterman interview? Do you think she came across is a negative light or do you think she was just being her honest self?

can someone tell me where I can see this show? because I don’t get it all anymore. In her red-carped intervieuw she told she loved it to be back and see everybody again and now she sais it was crual and mean?? that’s a little weard. Or am I not getting something? In the Netherlands they’re already saing she wants to get fired herself. can somebody explain??
I think that Katherine just came across wrong in the interview. She’s a great actress and I’m really happy she’s not leaving Grey’s, because it wouldn’t be the same!
Ugh…I can not stand her and I really wish they’d be done with her…she’s an ungrateful wench…actually i hope they put her in a coma so she’s stuck on the show but doesn’t get any storyline…it would serve her right.
Shannon you’re just a bitch. What did Katherine ever do to you? if you don’t like her then don’t watch the show! ><

[...] people who work unbelievably hard on Grey’s… so I think it’s really hard for them to hear [her complain about working a 17-hour day].” No [...]
Katherine does appear to be a little unfeeling sometimes in her comments about being on the show. Right now with so many people out of work orlosing their jobs…being able to work 17 hours per day and make what she makes would be a blessing to so many people.
Shannon– I’m with you. She’s an ungrateful wench. Wish they had killed her off instead of George… Bitching about a 17 hour day… Poor baby… It’s not like she had to work for them all summer…… CAN HER, ABC!
I think its refreshing that she is speaking her mind and not whitewashing anything saying “oh its wonderful, its fabulous, its marvelous…” a 17 hour day in any profession is ridiculous! Just because you make a lot of money doesn’t mean you can be mistreated just the same as if you make a tiny amount of money you should be treated with dignity.
I’m thrilled she’s back!
christy and shannon u both are fat bitches stop complaining if ya really hate her piss off and stop watchin the show if all ur going to do is complain just go away im sure u would complain if u had to work a 17 hour day she is the best actress on the show no offence to any of the others hope nothing happens to her and she stays in the show
