Katherine Heigl sat down with the Chicago Sun-Times this week to talk about … well, Katherine Heigl. 
The Grey’s Anatomy beauty was asked about life as an actress (the ups, the downs, etc), what Grey’s Anatomy is doing for women, how she spends her free time, and more!

Q. What do you think ”Grey’s Anatomy” says to women?
A. I’m really grateful because the character I play is smart and ambitious. And not ambitious in a bad way, getting ahead at the expense of someone else. She’s ambitious in her own self, pushing herself to be her best. The women on this show are independent, strong and career driven. They’re so supportive of one another, and that’s an important message to put out into the world today.
Q. Your character, who modeled lingerie to finance her medical training, struggles with the notion of beauty. How do you feel about it?
A. It’s an interesting line to toe. I understand the desire and the need to look and be perfect in this industry. But I’m a real woman, a real size. … I have my moments where I feel sexy and healthy, and then I have days when I just want to put on my sweats and not talk to anyone. Beauty is such a superficial thing. … All these beautiful, perfect people do not have beautiful, perfect lives.

I’ve always loved Katherine Heigl, even before she got really famous for her role on Grey’s Anatomy. I remember her from the movie “My Father the Hero”. She has really come a long way and I’m happy that she has made it. Grey’s Anatomy is a great show and Katherine is great in it. Grey’s was nominated for a People’s Choice Award and Katherine Heigl is nominated for the Olay Total Effects “Love Your Look” Award.
