Feelings on the finale aside, it’s still hard to deny the fact that Katherine Heigl pulled off an amazing performance this season. She seems to think she did, too, because Ausiello has revealed that the actress will be dropping her name into the Emmy nomination box for the upcoming award.
If you recall, last year was all a scandal, when Heigl stated that she hadn’t been given any Emmy-worthy material. If you also recall, this is around the time when all the Izzie-is-going-to-die rumors started. Well, Heigl doesn’t have that complaint this time around. What’s more Emmy-worthy than an emotional battle with cancer and potential death?
Of course, whether or not she might win a second time is anybody’s guess, but I think she’d be a worthy nominee.

I think Katherine deserves to win, she has been amazing this season.
I love her act as izzie, very natural. It seems that izzie is her self. I hope izzie won’t die next seasn. It would be awkward watching greys without her.

I agree with Tamsin, besides, Sandra Oh has proven to be a more mature actress. If I were part of the emmy board, I wouldn’t consider Heigl due to the media-circus she provoked last year. Sandra Oh should definitely be considered for the award
I understand what you’re saying about the media circus but that has nothing to do with how she performed and the storyline that she was given. I think that is a completly different issue and should have no bearing on whether or not she wins the Emmys.
I think both Sandra Oh and Katherine Heigl had an amazing season with good stories.
The media’s overreaction to Heigl’s decision not to submit her name for an Emmy award last year has no bearing on the quality of her performance this year.
Pamela – the media circus wasn’t fuelled by Heigl she just answered a question and it got blown out of proportion. But taking that on board that is actually a reason the Emmy board might consider her even more. She brought more publicity and attention to the awards than anything else. She is publicity and ratings dynamite and they will want her on the red carpet at the very least. Aside from that she deserves to be there with a great performance this season.
