We all know that Katherine Heigl loves dogs and is not afraid to open her wallet whenever there’s a dog in need. Earlier this month, Heigl teamed up with her mother’s Jason Debus Heigl Foundation to donate $25,000 so that twenty-five stray chihuahuas could be saved.
The pups were about to be euthanized until Heigl and Co. stepped in to save the day. The dogs were flown from Los Angeles to a new home in Boston.
The doggies are now available for adoption at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua and at the Salem Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire.
Gotta love heart-warming stories.

Have never seen Grey’s Anatomy and don’t know who Katherine Heigl is, but I am a huge fan of hers now. It is nice to hear some good news for a change. Unfortunately in the animal welfare biz we don’t get much of that these days. I don’t go to the movies, but I heard there was a movie with Chihuahuas and that is why we are having this problem. Hey Hollywood, it is time to end the use of animals in entertainment. Just say no! (and remember to spay/neuter your pet)
Thanks again Katherine Heigl.
