Katherine Heigl Still Cold Toward Washington

Found this tid-bit on Katherine Heigl’s feelings on Washington’s absense from the SAG awards:

Katherine Heigl, who suggested the actor shouldn’t be allowed to speak publicly after mentioning the ‘f’ word at a Golden Globe Awards backstage press conference earlier this month (Jan07), was still chilly towards him.

Of his Sag Awards absence, she said, “As far as we know, he’s seeking treatment right now to help with some of his issues.

“We don’t know when he’ll be back, or for how long.”

After publicly apologising for his remarks, Washington checked into a residential treatment facility last week in a bid to keep his job on the medical drama, according to news reports in America.

Looks like the tension remains. Though what about hte “…or for how long,” part. Does she know something or is she just hoping?

Hmm…

I hope she will just let it go, so that the negative energy will not affect the rest of the cast, and they won’t have to choose sides. I am a Fine Arts Major and it makes me mad to see people living out my dream and there on dreams and they are not thank-ful to to be on TV or Film. They make 10 times what the average person that is out here struggling from check to check and still they will all find a way to mess it up and be anger.
**Y all are on one of the best TV shows ever, that is breaking down all kinds of sterotypes. The show it self with all of its different color cast members, which they all have good parts is wonderful.
Isaiah was wrong and he has admitted it said he was sorry and is seeking help. What more can he do? JUST LET IT GO..
No one has to quit(TR,Patrick,Isaiah,Katherine) or be fired just lets all be adults and have a heart to heart and they can’t get over it, if not for themselves but for the fans who love the show, who watch on Thursday nights who saved money out of there check to buy $40 dollar box sets of the season. They owe us a great show!! NOW LET IT GO AND GET BACK TO WORK!!
(I hope the fans are with me when I say that)
    ****
Can’t we all be happy with the wins at the SAG awards.
    Also how pretty everyone looked.
ELLEN and her man looked great!!
Chandra Wilson was beautiful and spoke with passion when she won.
Kate was so uplifting in that pretty yellow dress.
I saw Eric D and his wife and they looked good. He’s looked good in every show that he has been on even Charmed. Justin C. and his wife looked great they have been married 13 years with 5 kids that deserves a medal. Sandra OH, Sara R, Katherine looked good to. I think they should have won something for best dressed cast!!
I missed Patrick D. and TR. **Where they there?
Oh Was Beyonce there?(or is she mad that she didn’t when at the golden G. or that she did not get a nom. for the SAG…
A lot of these people have forgotten the joy of acting and what it is all about.. What a Shame…

if it would have been a racial comment that was said to washington it would have been an entirely different thing. the guilty party would have been gone immediately. washington is the one who caused the bad vibes in the cast, not katherine, i support her feelings on the whole thing. she shouldn’t be the one punished, he should. i think his “reaching out” is a load of crock trying to save his butt from being fired from the best show on television, of course he is going to pretend to do these things like “therapy”

  3. JCW

I don’t read Katherine’s comments as cold so much matter of fact or indifferent.

Beyonce did indeed skip the SAGs, however Jennifer Hudson was on Oprah the other day and says that Beyonce is nothing but supportive of her.

  4. Hargrove

I believe that Katherine Heigl has some racial issues. One does not display the enmity that she directed at Washington under ordinary circumstances, even in defense of another. What, besides racial privilege, would inspire her to assume an authoritative posture toward a grown man, who is at least her equal, presuming to tell him when he should speak, β€œhe needs to just not speak in public. Period!” And what delusions of power, besides the expectation of support from a racist culture, would inspire a small woman to threaten a large man in a way that suggests that she can physically overpower him. β€œI will beat you up. I will use every ounce of energy I have to take you down . . ..”

At least Washington knows that she is no friend. I don’t believe for one minute that T.R. Knight is her “best friend,” what I believe is that she is Isaiah’s enemy, and that she was his enemy before these events . . .

  5. Ria

Hargrove I don’t think Kathrine cares about TR either. I don’t know if she is against Isaiah or not but I think she won’ts more camera time behind this. I enjoyed your comment.

She needs to stop making comments about it and just be neutral like the rest of the cast. Because more and more people are beginning to not care for her that much.

  6. Ria

NOW JCW you got nothing to say to about Amy bring up rasict. You are one sided if it don’t support TR you got something negative to say about it.

Amy your comment was wack and Kathrine is a cold hearted B^&$^, and she is giving bad vibes on TV and at interviews. You don’t know what is in Isaiah’s heart and you are a load of crock.

Why is Patrick D. not put into this the whole thing started when he was late a lot of times and Isaiah was the only one to tell him about it and how he was making everyone else have to wait around. Truth he(patriick) is not a team player and cares for nothing but his own sorry butt.

  7. JCW

Ria – you are one angry, f-d up woman! I’m trying to stay out of ANY discussion
as of the last week or so that trys to turn this into a racial issue!

Where the F do you get off preaching to everyboby who comments on this subject? Like all of us, you are welcome to state your point of view, but you turn everything into personal attacks. I’ve tried to meet in the middle ground with you – but you don’t give a sh*t about that, you just want to pick fights with people.

You, my dear, trash ANYBODY that does not agree ABSOLUTELY with your point of view. No wonder you sympathize with Mr. Washington – you obviously have anger issues yourself.

You do NOT merely disagree, you go out of your way to trash people and try to start written arguments.

The issue was never one of race – although for your purposes you tried to turn it into one – and plenty of like minded people chimed in. This was about a fight on the set and a homophobic comment that was made. Period.

You want to discuss racial slurs? Why don’t you try a blog where that is what’s being discussed! When somebody gets called n*gger on the Grey’s set, I’ll be right here with you raging against that person.

Oh, I know you’ll have another of your long winded, nasty tempered comebacks for this, but you know what? Who gives a sh*t?

I will state once more – I am against racial, sexist and homophobic slams against anyone, in the workplace or anywhere – and if you have some problem with that it’s just because you’re a
f-d up individual who haunts blogs looking for someone to argue with.

Now get off my ass and let the damn subject “GO” as you’ve been telling everyone to do from the beginning.

Hell – half the time you don’t even make sense – one time your saying one thing, and the next you contradict yourself. You are ONLY here because you enjoy trashing people who don’t agree with you.

And I guess I must have made quite an impression on you, since you continue trying to bait me.

And just WHERE did you get your information that Patrick Dempsey “was late a lot of times”? I’ve never read about that anywhere – who’s your source?
Before, you blamed it on T.R. being late… You’d blame it on Jesus if you could to take the heat off of Isaiah.

You are so blinded by your admiration of Mr. Washington that he could rape Shonda Rhimes and you’d STILL make excuses for him.

In the end, the man has anger issues, is working on them, will not be fired – period. If the cast and crew are fine with that, we all should be.

So why do you keep trying to stir the pot when all along you kept saying “Let it go”? Because you enjoy baiting people, calling names and trying to make issues where they don’t exist, that’s why.

Get over yourself Ria, your act is tired.

  8. Hargrove

Hi Ria, I too have notice that Patrick has been allowed to walk away clean from the entire episode while it has been Isaiah has been inundated by it. I believe that some people did not like Isaiah confronting Patrick and they’ve made it a point to smear Isaiah and make his employment insecure.

I have my questions about Patrick. His first wife was considerably older than him, and at one point she accused him of beating her to “see what it felt like.”

    Thanks for your comments

  9. TU

I love Kathrine’s character but I do not like how she is dragging this out stating she will “go down and fight for her friend.” blah blah its like the whole Kelly Ripa Rosie O’donell incident. Let it go! Im pretty sure TR wants to put this behind him and not be labeled the actor that got called a derogatory name. It also makes him look like he cant fend for himself. Like Bambi :(

  10. AJ

Katherine may not only have racist tendencies, but homophobic tendencies herself. Part of homphobia, or more accurately heterosexim, includes seeing gay men as unmanly. I’m with TU. Why does Katherine feel the need to defend TR. Why so paternalistic towards him? It could very well have to do with her privileged background, as Hargrove states. I teach in the same area as Katherine. If she was socialized in this predominantly “white”, privileged area, then she could most definitely has some issues to deal with in terms of racism. I see it with my students all the time. Privilege is a very difficult issue to understand if you have had it all your life. There is a great article written by Peggy McIntosh called “Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.” It’s great because it is an academic article written for the public.

  11. John

Hargrove is a homophobic black man (not a shortage of those in this culture!). If he’s not black, I owe you all an apology. He’d have to be to write all that absolute drivel about the word “faggot.” Blacks are very bigoted against gay people. Ask any educated sociologist.
