Forgive me, for I have sinned and forgotten that Kathy Griffin will be airing her latest comedy special tonight, “Balls Of Steel” at 9pm before the premiere of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover. The non-stop Housewives coverage is sucking my brain out and making me forget my priorities, which is laughing and talking trash!
Here’s the deets on tonight’s show, straight from the press release:
“Griffin dishes about her experience at the Teen Choice Awards with her date, Levi Johnston, and her take on recent headlines including Jon and Kate Gosselin, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. Griffin also expresses her joyfulness about an interview that couldn’t have been more perfect than if she planned it herself: Oprah Winfrey’s exclusive two-parter with Whitney Houston.
But what would a Kathy Griffin stand-up act be without a notorious Barbara Walters story? “Barbara Walters does not like me, but like Brokeback Mountain, I cannot quit her,” Griffin explains. She then recounts her latest appearance on The View, in which Ms. Walters was absent. “They can run, but they can’t hide,” says Griffin.”

No respect for Kathy Griffen – she has become a sell-out. During her time on Jimmy Kimmel she made fun of Kate Gosselin, but then on The View she sucked up to her and later told the press that Kate was great.
No surprise that Bravo, TLC and ABC are all linked together, making their faux movie stars, generating their press machines and exploiting children on reality television in order to get more ratings.
Sorry but Kathy is not as tough or cutting edge as she tries to make herself out to be. She’ll shell out for the money and do what the network tells her and that is now apparent by her recent television interviews.

She wasn’t funny even before she realized/accepted how funny she wasn’t and came up with her D-List schtick, using her un-funniness to seem funny.
She grates on my last nerve and I can’t watch even two seconds of her.

MMk let me just butt-in here to back up my Kathy Griffin. Have any of you ever watched her reality show?? It truly shows how genuinely, naturally funny she is. Her staff has such a great time working for and with her!!! Kathy Griffin really cracks me up and I love her!!

She also cracks me up. I love her ideas and think her love for her mom and use of her in her act is sweet and genuine.
I think Kathy Griffin’s at the peak of her talent right now and says a lot of mean things. But when you’re on The View you better toe the line or Barbara Walters will kick you off in a flash. Griffin’s always joking about her run-ins with Barbara.
Besides, this is showbiz. It’s all an act. And a funny one. And yay for having another redhead on TV.

And another entertainer tries to go political on me, when all I want to do is be entertained. KG makes me laugh out loud – that’s why I watch her – so it’s disappointing to hear her attacking the Right. It just makes her look like any other uninformed liberal who follows the Pack, when most people who actually take the time to take an educated look at what’s really going on can see truth on both sides. And sometimes, as in “Balls of Steel,” a liberal can just look plain silly. Case in point? For someone whose act primarily consists of pulling people out of all kinds of closets by supposedly revealing the lies they try to tell the public, KG looks…I’ll stick with uninformed…when she excitedly reveals what Levi Johnston tells her about Sarah Palin as the God’s-honest, gospel truth. Look at it logically: Palin is a politician, and, even if you decide to believe for one moment that any mother would refer to her Down’s baby as “retarded,” Palin the Politician knows much better than to say something that explosive and salacious in front of the dumb kid who impregnated her teenage daughter! He is a kid with an ax to grind and fame/money to be had, so he’ll say anything, do anything to keep his 15 minutes going. For a smart woman like KG to perpetuate that in the name of attacking a conservative is absurd.
Just keep your day job as a comedian, and leave the political science to commentators on both sides who know what they’re talking about.

Wow, didn’t realize there were so many anti-Kathy people here! I was tepid on her but saw her (for free) a few years ago and thought she was good. I’m not in the Cult of Kathy, but I find her entertaining.
