Katie Holmes looks happy and adorable as she and Paul Dano rehearse scenes for “The Extra Man” in New York today (February 25). Katie is staying warm with her Marc Jacobs scarf and tan trench coat.
Many of you have mentioned how it looks like she’s growing her hair out. Her hair is definitely getting longer and she just looks so cute!
Poor Katie and Paul look like they are freezing! I can’t wait to see what the wardrobes for this film will be and also hear more about Katie’s role.

Looks like she is having a good time. I hope her career picks up one of these days. Im not sure if she will ever be the star that Nicole Kidman is? I mean that in a nice concern way not being mean. Just stating perhaps the obvious. Nicole is a huge movie star but Katie has her man!

Nicole was with Tom when he was at the top so I think she rode a little bit on his star,she is a brilliant actress but I think his fame helped a bit with Katie it was the other way around, she came into his life at the worst time . I think Katie is a good actress, she just hasn’t found the the right role, I reallythink something dark and dramatic would suit her.
Nicole rode on his star, I agree with that, but she was smart in keeping her private life as private as possible. With Katie, the line between actress and tabloid staple is now blurred. She’s going to have to give a bang up performance to turn that around. But, I’m not saying it can’t be done because she seems determined and acting definitely seems to be at the top of her priorities right now.
I do’t understand why people always compare between the two of them coz I do’t see comparable at all ,it will be unfair for kaite ,nicole is 25 years in Business , 25 years of Experience in acting skills 7 Globes Nominations 3 winner 2 Oscar Nominations 1 winner BAFTA Winner Silver Berlin Bear Winner And the list goes on , katie is Building her career
and she needs so much Experience that comes with age and more filmes in the same time,Katie is a good actress, i remember her in Pieces of April god!!! it was a brilliant Performance by her if she Continued like that she will be one of the bigest Stars in hollywood for sure she needs time thats all
Tyler , I don’t agree about the privacy bit, I don’t see what Katie does thats different from other stars that you label her tabloid staple, she’s been in NY for 5 months, and lived her life while she was there , its not like she had a choice, she was seen out and about with her daughter almost everyday, you , me and everybody else would have done the same thing, Jessica Alba seems to be out everyday at various places with her daughter every single day , nobody says anything, Gwen Seffanis son is photographed all the time at parks and everywhere else and you have both parents kissing him on each cheek and looking towards the camera and smiling , there are different standards for everyone else and different ones again for Tom and Katie, and I tend to think that deep down you know it . Actually if you read the Vanity Fair spread katie said that she didn’t want to open her doors to the media after all that was said all during her pregnancy and after the birth of Suri, you know things that were said were pretty nasty.
I see your point Annie. One rule for Tom and Katie and other rules for the rest of the celebs. I cannot count how many pictures of Violet Anne Affleck we recieve every single day. We don’t see Suri that much.
Katie as an actress will blosson. All she needs is to keep doing what she does. Broadway was a resounding success, I hope we see more of her on the big screen.
…and I wish she would just be a mom and wife. And disappear a bit to raise Suri. I know that is a very loaded opinion, and one she clearly would disagree with, but each to their own.
I think her acting is quite reflective of her personality in anything I have ever seen her in.. I agree with Tyler in the sense that she needs a brilliant role, and soon, otherwise, role as mom is the one I enjoy watching.
I agree Kelly, I think that her roles reflect her personality too, thats why I think Katie really shines when she plays someone who is a bit complex, edgy and a bit deep, I loved Pieces of April, and I liked Abandon as well, both dark roles, even Joey was moody and broody, thats why Kevin Williamson knew he found the right Joey as soon as he saw her, Abandon was written with her in mind, she’s also never had a decent leading man either, at least someone who is box office fire, and about the oscars, I never understand how they choose oscar winners anyway ,because a lot of the time the winners leave me a bit puzzled as to why they won in the first place. Comparisons are wrong , because she spent 5yrs on TV, so in a way that took away from her movie career a bit , although she was very young in the Ice Storm she was really great playing a girl who was a bit high on booze and drugs, I think the right role hasn’t come along yet but Ido believe it has to be a bit edgy, thats where she excells.
I think you’re neglecting the fact that alot of people believe Katie sold out, not just to money, but to something else. It may not be discussed here, but it’s a big big deal – one that will greatly impact Suri and any future children she and Tom have. How can anyone deny that?
I somehow think its a bigger deal for you Tyler than what it is for Katie, I don’t see anything wrong with Bella and Connor, paticularly Connor since we see more of him, he loves his dad heaps, seems to get on really well with his step mother, is very comfortable in the public eye and the paps and comes across as having a healthy dose of self confidence, so I can only assume that his up bringing is very good, regardless of the thing we can’t discuss.
Why must Katie insist on wearing those dang skinny jeans and ballet flats? That oufit is wrong and now more than ever she needs to dress stylishly. She is sporting a spring trench with gray gloves and a cream scarf?!! Huh??? Where is her winter coat and her gloves and scarf should be in the same family of colors. The gal behind Katie with the knee high boots and hooded parka with skinny jeans tucked in looks so much better and more stylish in the cold weather. I swear Katie is no fashion icon to me. If she was just a Jane Doe walking down the street nobody would call her an icon, but fans are biased and call her an icon simply b/c of her name Katie Holmes, wife of TC. Where is her stylist????
Jenna, she’s making a movie, I don’t think we should judge what she’s wearing , saying that, I’m tired of wishing Katie went back to how the old Katie used to be, the hair , weight,and even clothes,maybe they were not designer duds but they were cute, again saying that, a lot of actresses in their private time look pretty sad clotheswise anyway, I’ve noticed the older they are , the more attention they pay to their looks. Maybe Katie doesn’t have a stylist , but I still think , even though its improving, Katies hair is still letting her down, you only have to see the video of her in long hair, I think everyone might agree on that, long and flowing, up or a pony tail they were her looks.
Annie, the hair was longer, but she also had more fat on her, which made her look younger. Now, she looks pretty much like all her counterparts in Hollywood. They all pretty much look, dress, and act the same.
