Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise appear to be heading home. They were seen leaving New York City via heliport today and are most likely headed back to Los Angeles. Suri was able to do a lot while she was in New York and spend some time with her mom. They went bowling, saw The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins on Broadway and went to a NYC park to play.
I’ve obviously enjoyed all of the Katie and Suri pictures, but maybe now they can go home and spend some time away from the spotlight. From the pictures, it looks like Suri could use some of that.
I love the picture above of Suri. She looks like she is smiling a little bit and peaking at someone from underneath her little hands. Very cute.

God they need the break. She is a tough cookie though. Even with all that, she did not cry or throw a tantrum. I have to give her that. I am selfish for wishing we see them soon?
Even Suri seems to be upset. At who you people that always have to be clicking away to get a picture. Leave the kid alone for Gods sake!
The paps are crazy to be that close!! Its like Katie can’t take her kid anywhere and what amazes me is that the fact that some people are blaming Katie for taking her kid outside. Hello?? What is she supposed to do? Should all celebrities keep their children at home at all times…otherwise they get the blame for enjoying some time with their children? JG and her daughter are photographed everyday, doing everything? Should she keep her daughter at home too?
In some of the pics Suri is covering her eyes and ears, I think she is smart to do that. Her parents must have taught her to do that.
Well, when we see pics of Suri some people complain and when we don’t see her the same people start saying “where is Suri?”, “Katie is abandoning her child” and etc. They can’t win.
Im glad mom and daughter are enjoying the city and once they’ve seen everything we probably not going to see Suri that much, except hopefully when they go to the park.
And about how Suri dresses and her bottle…its up to her parents and its nobody else’s business!

I would much prefer that we NOT see photographs of Suri than see her in a situation that is so obviously uncomfortable for her.
If I were Katie (who has the ultimate responsibility along with her husband), my concern would not be about what “some people” would say or whether or not she can “win”. It would be for the comfort of my child.
I don’t see Suri enjoying the city. I see a frightened and uncomfortable child barely tolerating all that’s going on around her, but that’s just my opinion and one, as a Mother, that I feel strongly about.
Tom used to go all over the world and we only saw what he wanted us to see of him. Basically if he had a movie to promote. The papps of today are totally invasive and yet other celeb parents can do things and take their children places without being totally interferred with. Maybe we need some stronger laws in the US to prevent those papps from getting so close??? How do they know everywhere she is going to be?? I mean the theater is a given and that is public domain, but the park, the bowling alley, the heliport??? Somebody in the Cruise camp is telling them.
Every day the paps are waiting for Katie at rehearsals, she’s photograghed when she leaves, i’m sure she’s followed home, and they sit and wait, its not like they’re in their home in LA , the paps know that if your in adifferent city your out more. Saw a TVspecial on the Paps once , its unbelievable what and how they get up to, following celebrities around, it’s actually scary, this is their job and they make very good money from it, so they will go to any length to get a photo. Here in Australia Suri frequently appears on the front cover of magazines, sometimes full cover shots or smaller front page shots but she’s there, she and Shilo are the only little kids on the front covers.
Did anyone else notice the space alien heads on kh shirt?

I don’t want to get in a big debate, but my first thoughts on these photos are first, how sweet Suri is, and secondly, maybe she’s covering her face and ears because they’re at a heliport and she might not like the sound of the helicopter. She’s probably more used to getting her picture taken than any of us are! I hope her parents don’t mind me saying so, because I’m sure they’re sick and tired of all the camera, but it’s a real pleasure to get to see pictures of such a beautiful little girl, she always makes me smile!

Con mom: If you noticed most of the time pics of celebs are taken as they are leaving a place not when they’re entering, this is because someone at that place calls the paps. Peter Bart from Variety has spoken about this before…he said he once went into a restaurant with someone famous and apparently the waitress called the paps and as they were leaving there were about 20 paps waiting for them outside. And this might be the case with Tom and Katie and the fact that they are constantly followed by the paps everywhere they go because pics of them sales. How hard can it be for the paps to know where Katie is going when she is in NYC? They probably know where she staying, or they probably pay someone who work in the hotel or a place she is staying or someone who lives close by to inform them when she is leaving and so on.
Also, I don’t think Tom and Katie care what people say about THEIR child, if they did, Suri wouldn’t be seen with a bottle in public since like a year ago or something and so on.
Con mom: how do you think the paps get pics of Jennifer and violet at the park, supermarket, school trip, house shopping and etc.?

Actually Hana, there are web sites for tipping off paps. You also get paid as much as 500$ for telling paps where a celeb is. The paps are making a lot of money from this.
Con mom, gone are the days when a celebrity could move around like that. The times you are talking about, there was not huge market for these pictures. Now with the internet, there is additional market from blog sites and news sites. Those times, no one would bother with Marcia Cross bouncing her kids in the park or Jennifer Garner going to the Supermarket.
I have just seen pictures of Sienna Miller crying over the paps situation. It is amazing that Katie keeps her cool through it all.
I saw pics of Sienna Miller crying over the paps too. Apparently she went to the police station to complained about them.
I find it really amazing that so many that live in other countries know for a fact how the paps work in a town where they have never been. But yet those that deal with the business in THAT town don’t really know a thing.
YES! the pr peeps DO make the calls. And NO! not all of the pics are of a person coming out of the building.
and IF! a employee made a phone call they would be fired on the spot and then labeled and never work again.
And if you notice, the only time that many of the OTHER stars and their kids are photographed is when the stars have a movie or something coming out.
PH: How do you know if people here have not been to LA? Not that just because someone lives in LA or has been to LA knows how the paps work. Just so you know I’ve been to America 3 times and LA once. Quite a lot of Europeans do travel.
I didn’t say ALL of the pics are of a person coming out of a building. I said MOST of the pics and yes, in Tom and Katie’s case MOST of the pics I’ve seen are of them leaving a place.
You’re right most stars are photographed when they have a movie coming out, because they’re everywhere trying to promote their movies.

Well Hana, if you have been to LA then you should know that it IS a different country then America. (haha inside joke for those of us that live here!)
Those of us that live here KNOW that the paps do NOT hang out at the airports or on the street corners. They are called ahead of time and told whom will be where.
tt and kh can go for weeks and months never being seen and they ARE in town and out and about.
Then all of a sudden they are photographed at every breath they take.
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
This is NOTHING against tt and kh. It is just the way the industry works.
I think some people are just too cynical.
I have only visited LA a number of times back when I lived in Phoenix. In my view, LA is like another planet!! LOL That is one tough town. While we were getting moment to moment updates of Katie and Suri in NY where was Tom?? When he wants to be seen, we see plenty of him-but the guy is very good, after many years of practice, about going and doing things he wants to do without it being plastered all over everywhere. Maybe he was actually in NY with Katie and Suri for a time.. No one really knows…I think we have been seeing so much of Suri and just Katie because some of us had mentioned that it seemed as if she couldn’t go or do anything without him right beside her.
Puck Happy! Another LA’er like me!! It is like living on another planet, isn’t it!?!?! LOL!! Do you work in the industry by any chance as I do? That’s a planet within a planet!! LOL!!
I also know for a fact that PR reps regularly call the paps and let them know where their clients are going to be. I also know for a fact that Tom’s people have called the paps as well. It’s common knowledge in the business.
A year or so ago, Tom and Katie were arriving at one of the area restaurants. Tom looked over at the paps and said “How did you guys know where to find us?” (I’m paraphrasing but it was something like that). The response that came back from the photographer was “Your office called to let us know!” It was shown on the local 11PM newscast and it was hilarious. He got caught!!
The truth is, and anyone who is close to the business knows this, it’s common practice for PR people to make phone calls to the press. I don’t know if Katie’s people do it, but Tom’s definitely do!

Hello!! You’re right about Tom being able to “hide” if he so chooses. When he doesn’t want to be seen, he isn’t. It’s as simple as that.
Also, I know he was in LA atleast part of the past couple of weeks. My hubby saw him on one of the studio lots a couple of different times last week. He wasn’t in New York. I don’t know about now though. I certainly hope he’s with Katie in NY by now. He should be in my opinion. She seems to be there to support HIM when he’s working (ie she was with him in Berlin filming Valkyrie). He SHOULD be with her as well.
