The “Tropic Thunder” premiere was yesterday, August 11th, in Los Angeles. The movie premiered at the Mann’s Village Theatre. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were in attendance because of Tom’s cameo in the movie and I imagine also to support Tom’s good friend Ben Stiller.
As most of you already know, Tom plays a “a surprise portrayal of a bald, hairy-chested, foulmouthed, dirty-dancing movie mogul.” We not only get to see what Tom would look like fat and bald, but he also does a little hip-hop dance number, which included some “air-spanking“.
The reviews for Tom’s role have been nothing but good. Audiences have been surprised, amused and have been doing some major belly laughing when Tom’s part is on the screen. His co-stars call his footwork fancy and say that he is an excellent dancer. Jack Black added “I’d say per hour, he was the big winner in ‘Tropic Thunder‘.”
Now on to the red carpet premiere. I don’t think Tom and Katie have ever looked better, happier and gorgeous since they first announced they were an item. There are so many pictures from the premiere of the two of them smiling, laughing and obviously just having a great time.
Katie looks absolutely stunning! I loved everything about her outfit – her shoes, dress, purse and that hair…her hair looks gorgeous in this style! And of course, I thought Tom looked handsome and just happy. I love seeing that big huge Tom Cruise smile on him.
There were so many pictures snapped of this couple. I am having a hard time choosing which ones to post! I think I have chosen some of the best. You can see all of them below.

Wow, they look gorgeous. Love everything about Katie, I really love her dress. She seems so alive and happy. Tom too. And the reviews for Tom’s performance are excellent, even from his critics.

We are definitely seeing this film…the previews look hilarious. I disagree with the other posters who write that they both look gorgeous. I am not seeing it. You all know I rave when I feel it is deserved…..(ie. the MET Gala Costume Awards etc.) but I feel TC is dressed to casually. I do not like those white sneakers he often sports; and I think Katie’s dress is just average. She has looked more radiant to me in the past. I loved, absolutely loved her in her red ball gown and that amazing black and Gold ensemble at the Bambi awards. The long blue velvet sheath she wore last winter was also spectacular. I am just not “feelin” their outfits this time! Stylist stat!
I agree with Jenna that katie’s dress is just average nevertheless Katie looks gorgeous.
I agree with Looika and Jenna, I think they both look gorgeous and happy here but I’m not saying this is the best they’ve ever looked outfit wise.

Katie looks better than she has looked in a long while. The haircut does suit her. The color of her dress is lovely. And no sunglasses! (Although bags under the eyes) Tom looks ridiculous, IMO. Much too underdressed compared to his wife and those shoes are laughable.
One word: Beautiful. Katie looks gorgeous and very happy might I add!
What a radiant couple they are! Beautiful, happy and in love. I’ve been a Tom Cruise fan for almost 25 years but it wasn’t ’til I found this site I realized how beautiful and well dressed Katie is! I love her style and get inspired.

I love it, they look very happy, Katie looks gorgeous and Tom is hamming it up a bit with his outfit, maybe not the best , but its not a big do, i liked her dress ,shoes, and her hair is very cute.
I actually really like the way Katie looks! Her hairstyle is growing on me! The dress is lovely although it does seem a bit tight around her thighs. Her shoes are terrific and so is her clutch. I like her eye makeup as well, although I think she’d look better with a more pink shade of lipstick.
As for Tom…..well…..um…….he looks interesting. LOL! The jeans are fine but the vest has got to GO and so does the shiny jacket. And those sneakers!! YIKES! They look like they have lifts in them. LOL!! Also, do we really need sunglasses at night? I will give him one thing. He looks younger than his 46 years. I wonder if he’s had work done!

Of course they do! But whether they’re actually happy or not, we really don’t know. Looks can be deceiving. Tom “looked happy” with Nicole until the very end. They’re actors selling a project and an image and they’re very, very good at it. Especially Tom. Katie not as much.
That being said, I hope they are happy. I wouldn’t wish anything other than that on anyone.
Oh, and before anyone says I’m cynical, when you’ve worked in this town as long as I have, you become accustomed to the fact that things are rarely as they seem. It’s just the way the business works.
One more post! Did anyone see the pics of Katie back in New York this morning?? I believe Just Jared has them. I’m sorry, I don’t know how to do the links the way Julie likes them to be done. Katie looked tired as heck!!
She has to be exhausted! That means she and Suri flew from NY to LA Sunday afternoon and then Katie flew back from LA to NY either late last night or early this morning to be at rehearsals!! That’s 10 hours in the air and 6000 miles for a little over 24 hours, all to attend a premiere with Tom!?!?! That’s a little crazy!
I wonder if Tom (and Suri) went back to NY with her?? Anyone know?
Tom certainly should! If she can fly all those hours to attend a premiere with him, the least he can do is support her in New York! I mean it’s not as if he’s working or anything!!
Ok Chartotte Rose , if Tom is good at keeping up an image, but Katie not so good at pretending, then judging by all the pics, she must be happy, because she has big smiles in all the pictures, and seems very happy to be with her husband, and how do you know , he’s not working on something, unless you know something we don’t
Judging by the pics she MAY BE happy, Annie. We just don’t know. They’re both actors after all.
How do I know he’s not working? Because my husband and I are both in the industry and it’s common knowledge that Tom is not filming right now. He was dropped from the film he intended to do next and is looking for another project….something he could do in either NY or LA.
Take a look around the various movie sites. I’m sure they will confirm what I’m saying. Tom has no current project on the books and is not involved in the day to day running of UA. Paula Wagner does that.
Sheesh Annie! What I’m saying is common knowledge. It can’t be tough to confirm!
PS…if you have knowledge of a project that Tom is working on, please share the information and where it comes from with a link. He’s been mentioned for a couple of things, but he’s not filming right now.

I think they put it up, to fuel pregger Rumors. Cuz they could have put the above pic, or etc. But chose to use this one. check it out, It does look like she is a little pregger, but it is probably that time of the month, and she is just swollen. When you are thin, or normal sizes, You can see it more. but hey I am size 10, 32 waist, and still get bloated sometimes. Lol anywys, U think they put the pic up to make the rumors fly!
As I said, I’m not being cynical Annie. Just realistic. Hollywood marriages come and go. We all know that. NO ONE can say what goes on inside a relationship unless they are the ones IN the relationship. Tom and Katie may be the happiest couple in the world (I hope they are) or they may not be. We have no way of knowing. That’s reality. Unless you have inside information that the rest of us don’t have, you’re just guessing as well.
Also, I would sincerely appreciate if you would keep your negative opinion of me to yourself and stop guessing about my motives around here. Calling someone cynical and asking if I’m only that way with Tom and Katie is an insult to me personally and does call my motives into question and I don’t like it. I can have a perfectly civil and polite conversation with anyone WITHOUT MAKING IT PERSONAL. You seem to have an issue with that. I have no desire to argue with you, but I also have no wish to listen to personal insults.
My opinion is my opinion and I am entitled to it. If you can’t have a polite conversation where we discuss our opinions, perhaps you should ignore my posts. Thank You.
Finally, you asked how I know Tom is NOT working and I told you. I asked if you have evidence to the contrary. You didn’t respond so I take it you haven’t found any proof that he’s working on a particular project. A polite person would have said so rather than use their next post to make this issue personal.
Just my 2 cents.

PS. By the way, I am a lovely person Annie. I’m actually quite easy to get along with when I’m spoken to in a civil manner. I’m very capable of agreeing to disagree. Name calling is NOT civil.

If you think calling me “cynical” is not a personal attack, perhaps you’re unaware of the true meaning of the term. According to my dictionary the definition is: “bitterly or sneeringly distrustful, contemptuous, or pessimistic.”
If that isn’t a personal attack, I don’t know what it is. I am not “bitterly or sneeringly distrustful” nor am I “contemptuous” or “pessimistic” and I resent your inference that I am any of those things. If you can’t keep your comments to the subject of this site and not make personal attacks, perhaps you should rethink responding to those you disagree with. I’m not going to allow you to attack me without provocation.
This site is about Tom and Katie, NOT about your personal feeling towards me. I have not attacked you nor have I shared my personal feeling about you….and I won’t. It’s not appropriate. Bashing is against the rules of this site, therefore there is very much a need to get the site administrator involved when someone insists on making a personal attack against another poster just because they have differing opinions. I just saw new pics of Suri at JJ. Katie was taking Suri for some trampoline lessons at the indoor playground at New York City’s Chelsea Piers. Suri looks so adorable. But I think Katie should have had Suri wearing pants when taking trampoline lessons instead of wearing a dress. I wonder if Suri also wear a dress when she goes swimming. LOL.
The photos of Suri in Katie’s arm look like a little angle. She is truly a beautiful little girl. I think Suri is a spitting image of Katie.
You are right looika. The jj pics of Suri are just adorable. Except for wearing a dress to be jumping about, she is a doll. The dress is cute too, but sometimes a girl needs pants or shorts. I am sure there are adorable little short sets to wear to these kinds of activities in the summer. You can tell Suri’s eyes are just like her mom’s. So cute…
I lOVE the shoes that kh is wearing! I am not too fond of the dress, but ONLY because I don’t really like most formal type dresses.
I would like to see tt with OUT the sunglasses. In some of the pics his smile and his face look tired. I would like to see his eyes to see what is really going on. They say the eyes are the window to your soul and that you only cover them when you want to hide the truth.
AND DON NOT SLAM ME! Looking tired is NOT a bad thing. Maybe he spent the day doing yard work at the neighbors house or building homes for the homeless and he’d rather be at home in the hot tub instead of posing for the cameras!!
So Suri is back in New York with Katie! My goodness! She schlepped that poor kid all the way to LA and back for just a day! OK then.

I am the only one who hates this pixie cut….I love her hair, longer! But I think these pictures are great. I do agree with puck, maybe this ny schedule is too much for them.
X17 has the video of Suri jumping on the trampoline. She looks so very cute. You can also see that Katie tried to block the paps from taking picture of Suri. I wonder why Julie didn’t put these pics of Suri here.
