On November 29th in Hollywood, CA, Katie Holmes attended the Dizzy Feet Foundation’s Inaugural Celebration of Dance. The event was held at the Kodak Theatre.
Katie wore a black mini with a cream colored cropped jacket and nice pair of strappy heels.
Katie helped found this organization with So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe and Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba. While at the event, Katie told local news channel 7 (ABC), “It’s so good for kids to have this outlet and to have this opportunity. There are so many deserving kids out there that need the help, and it’s really rewarding to be a part of something that can give it to them.”
In other news, Katie was asked by Access Hollywood about the high heels that her daughter Suri Cruise has been seen in. She said, “They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them. She, like every little girl – she loves my high heels.”

First, I think it’s wonderful that Katie is participating in this charity. I love to see celebrities giving back to the community!
As far as what Katie wore to the celebration, I absolutely love the cropped leather jacket. The color is incredible. Her shoes are wonderful as well. I don’t care for the dress on her though. It hits her in the wrong place. Katie is a thin girl with heavier legs (they’re not fat….just heavier than the rest of her and very muscular) and I think this dress makes them look heavier than they actually are. I’m also shocked by her hair! It doesn’t take much to comb your hair! I wouldn’t expect an elaborate hair-do at all, but in this case, her hair looks messy and unkempt! I could see her running around shopping looking like that, but going to an event? No. It’s as if she doesn’t care what she looks like and that’s not healthy! I can understand why gossips are always saying things like “Katie is depressed”. It’s one thing to be casual, but quite another to be unkempt. I just don’t get it. And again….for those who are going to say she doesn’t need to be done up all the time, I agree with you!! This is not a case of being done up. This is a case where all she needed to do was simply comb her hair and tie it back neatly if she wanted to.
As for Katie’s comments about Suri’s shoes being ballroom shoes….well, that’s nice, but I still think it’s unnecessary for a child to parade around in heels. IMHO, it’s unsafe and also IMHO, it sends the wrong message. She’s a little girl. I read an article not long ago from a doctor who stated that the heels are damaging to Suri’s tendons and bones which are not fully formed at the age of 3 1/2. As a mother, I’d rather err on the side of caution and not allow it. My little girl liked to play in my high heels and did have play princess heels, but that doesn’t mean I’d run out and buy her a pair of heels and allow her to wear them outside the house, but that’s just me. As a parent, it’s not about allowing your child to have whatever they want. It’s about doing what’s best for them and IMHO, wearing heels is not best for a 3 1/2 year old.
Katie is such a pretty woman, but she needs to play off her assets. She has very fit legs, however this super tight dress is making them look really thick. Also, I’d kill for her shiny long hair normally, but this look is so messy. It does not look like an updo you’d wear to an event.
I must say Carrie Ann Inaba’s pantsuit is also REALLY bad. It just doesn’t fit well. It’s a shame that they don’t rely on stylists. They have the cash for it!

Just saw a pic on Katie Holmes Daily, how the dress that she is wearing , really looks like, its an incredibly pretty dress, and Katie disected it , and then wore her leather jacket on top
Forget it , I don’t know what to make of her anymore and more than ever I’m convinced that she manages to ruin in someway every pretty thing she wears. Can’t believe it!
Honestly a so called designer who knows nothing, about clothes hair or anything else. Makes you wonder , the times she looked great , who actually put her together, because I don’t think it was Katie herself.

I didn’t like the sash on the original……..Good decision to toss it. The jacket is awesome!

I am struggling with the look myself. I think her hair is really throwing me off. She looks disheveled again. Her nails are not polished (ie french manicured) not sure about the toes either. She could’ve pulled this off nicely with some nice black tights or sheer black nylons…more glamorous and the dress…It looks like a dress that is cinching its way up too much. It is a really weird fit. I thought her slip was hanging out or something and it was the silk bordering hemline. I can’t figure it out. She looks like a rocker wannabe…The hair is too messy and the outfit could’ve been more polished. I could see her wearing a nice tweed pencil skirt, the gorgeous Givenchy heals, black sweater, with black cropped leather jacket or the cream one…not this ill fitting dress/long shirt with rubber band waist…:( she still looks pretty, but she could look better.
I think she looks fine, I wish I had legs like hers.
I think Katie is confident and has learned not to care what outsiders think and just does what she likes.
I agree the jacket is awsome, I love it, and I have always liked her legs, and they are probably great in real life seeing how scrawny most others are,but you know sometimes it would be nice to see her look like she just didn’t put herself together in about 1 min and out the door.
Katie is an exceptionally pretty girl and most of the time its ok to look natural, there are a lot of actresses who do that, but they take the trouble to dress themselves up when the occasion calls for it, all of them, that goes with the job so why is it so hard for her. Her eye makeup looks smudged, the bottom bit where the sash is supposed to have been, looks like elastic is running though it.
Geez it was the cutest dress, but yes you are right Mary , Katie did make the look her very own.

All I can do is laugh out loud over this ensemble. Complete mess in my opinion. Hair is how one wears it when cleaning their home, eye-makeup is smudged as if she was wearing it all day and was sweaty. Forehead is in need of powder to soak up some of her oily skin that is making her face so shiny, nails and toes need manicured and legs are TOO heavy, dress is ill-fitting, and bunching around her hip/waist area. Completely not laying nicely….this all from a fashion icon/designer. Appalling really. What Tom sees in her I will never understand. What he saw in her years ago, I GET b/c BACK then she was PUT TOGETHER, recall Paris 06 with that organza grecian dress and that expertly coiffed hair, yes…back then any man would want her, now…forget it. two of my male co-workers saw these pics of her and started laughing!!! She cannot be serious wearing this ill fitting mini…..Mary…I think you are paid to write nice comments about Katie b/c you never once have made a negative comment about her outfits or appearance and I just find it odd that you think she ALWAYS looks great…very odd in fact. Everyone on these threads toggles back and forth, some days loving her clothes and others not so much which is normal b/c no one person always looks great all the time. I seriously wonder if you know her family in some way or have some connection to her b/c it simply amazes me that you never think she looks bad when clearly she looks quite unkempt. HIRE A STYLIST STAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS Carrie Inaba’s pants NEED HEMMED!!!! PEOPLE…..YOU ARE ON STAGE FOR HEAVENS SAKE……PLS TAILOR YOUR CLOTHING…..WEAR IT WELL…..NOT ILL FITTING……..Lord….. we need a good dose of the stars from the 30’s-40’s who were expertly coiffed……hats, driving gloves, manicured looking women who presented well.
In the 4th pic from the bottom Katie is gently tugging her hem line down….just noticed that…examine where he fingertips are being hled on the bottom of the skirt material!!!!! SHE KNOWS it was riding up…….either RUN MORE or add mORE material to the bottom of the dress to hide her larger thighs.
I love her shoes…and I would love the same ones, but I heard they were Givenchy and probably several hundred $$$ or thousands. Any ideas on a similar look or the same ones for a good price??

I always say Katie lets herself down and I truly believe it. I also think now,that she is very naive, very unworldly, and probably quite gullible.

To me , right now she is coming across as a young woman who married someone really rich and is indulging in her fantasies, she is an exc producer, she is a designer, or so she thinks , Ithink the one thing that you need as a designer is an eye for detail, something she desperately lacks, and shows it time and time again. You would think that she has what it takes to show the world that she is worthy of a design label, that she has an idea what its all about, put a bit of effort, people are watching her , and rightly so, instead she always manages to come across as UNKNOWING.
Katie also tells us Tom gives his opinion on her clothes, well he too is letting her down , because he is not telling her the truth. Everyone around her is letting her down. Now maybe this sounds a bit awful , but it suits Tom that way, after all , we don’t want her to get too big .
Katie looked beautiful after she had Suri, up until after her marriage , where she thought she should look more like VICTORIA B, AND BECAME ANOREXIC looking cut her hair in a bob , went to the beach and parks in high heels .
Thank god she got over that , but why did she think that she had to be like someone else in the first place?
She has no confidence in herself, she needs to aquire a bit of an ego, to love herself a little bit more, and needs to get advice from a knowing person, who can steer her in the direction she needs, not just indulge her .
Obviously, her family don’t do it.
Katie has great attributes, but I don’t think she realises it, nor does she have anyone to make sure that she makes the most of these attributes, and for me that’s very sad!
I have looked at these 2-3 times because there is something about the outfit that I just don’t get. I think the skirt is too short. When your eye goes to one part of the body no matter how much you try and even it out, it tells me that it doesn’t work. I really don’t think this outfit works. It would work with tights, but not bare legs.

The tube dress in December is not the best look on her. Someone needs to give her a visual of how she will look up on stage beside everyone else, it’s not that she looks bad, it just doesn’t blend well. She’s a beautiful lady, she can be beautiful toned down a bit too.

All of you ladies are right—- every comment I agree with. I could not agree more. Tube dress in December is silly; bare legs next to all the others on stage who are smaller than Katie screams she looks OUT OF PLACE, indulging her every whim b/c she can now that she has TC’s $$$$ behind her is accurate Annie. She needs to pick to one thing sh eis good at and continue to hone those skills instead of dabbling in a bunch of things! Annie….you are right….she appears to lack an ability to have an attention to detail…she looks so sloppy to me most days. I honestly am beginning to find her odd. Very odd woman!
I just do not get how people can determine what a person is like from pictures.
If she wears what she wants and is happy what does it matter.

That was probably levelled at me, and thats ok, thats what I think, it really is, and I don’t mean it in a bad way what I said about Katie, because I also praise her a lot of the time. I’m one of these people who think that when you attend some sort of an event your make up and hair look good. Most people I know don’t go to the hairdresser or have their make up professionally done, but they look good and put together, and we all have kids , we all have busy lives, we all have husbands , partners, or whatever, we clean our own houses, and everything else that comes with it.
I ,agree that you can’t judge a book by its cover , but sometimes you can see things, as women I think we are cluey about what we see with other women.
I don’t mean to offend when I give my impressions or opinions
but the only thing that seperates us from them is their fame and money, everything else is the same………..same feelings , same insecurities, same health issues, everything.

Im, saying that when you marry a billionaire you have to keep up with the imagine and represent this powerful, wonderful, actor who has established himself ..who has worked very hard for this image/being a icon ‘Mega Star’/for his fans would like to see this imagine of appreciation from Katie!

Does anybody know if the jacket was Katies design, they said the dress was Juicy Couture. the shoes by Givenchy, but the best thing of all the jacket, wasn’t mentioned.
Annie, It was not directed at you but an in general about alot of statements made about any actor, celeb or her from pics.
I admire her for not seeming to care what is said or written about her and to be herself, a person and not an actor or celeb. It seems that alot of events become about what someone looked like. or what they were wearing instead of the event. This event was not televised and was planned for the celebration of dance and Dizzy feet not actors or celebs.
I do not believe that you can tell weather she is overwelmed, dishelved, stupid, or any other adjective’s by a pic all you can tell is what you think about what she is wearing and your opinion of it.
I think she should start the clothing line “Suri’s Designs” in clothes dept…..kids clothes sell big time…Oh and baby stuff…..womens stuff..too many doing the clothes and perfumes and purses…Im all for American made USA labels…we needs the jobs here …..bad!

She looks that way on a busy day..I can believe that….but have you ever been in her shoes..it takes alot of push and rush and go go go all the time…she has to be in shape and she’s not your body tells all………she needs to run ten miles a day and get with it…and eat right…
If you ever have been there done that then you cant ever know whats it like…..soon money will not matter if the hair doesnt and the clothes …the next thing will be the relationship and if that happens then Im going to be ticked!
