Everyone has been asking two questions lately, ‘Where is Suri?” and “What about Katie’s career?” Well, a report from this week’s issue of Life & Style was leaked to E! Online and is was about Katie’s lunch at The Grill with her former manager John Carrabino. It’s being reported that she is wanting to jump start her career again and this meeting was the beginning.
“She got married and had a baby,” an insider from Katie’s camp tells the mag, “so she was on hiatus. Now she’s back, and work is her focus.”
Mad Money has been her only movie since 2005 and it didn’t do very well, as we all know. Hopefully Katie can find THE role that will get her career going in the right direction like she wants.

sure dawson’s creek was a great tv teen show – hey, i watched it!!
but she just doesn’t have the sparkle, skill or ‘personality/charm’ to make it as an oscar deserving actress-let alone a winning one.
don’t get me wrong, there IS a place for the katie’s in hollywood, and she should stick to those kind of roles-
i just doubt she will get the kudos or credibility she seems to feel she deserves, and i think the sooner she realises that, the less pain for her…
You’re right, I’m not counting Katie out, but let’s be realistic, there are places for all calibres of actresses. Some are destined to win Oscars, some Emmys and so forth. A person needs to know where they fit in and then make the talent that they do have work for them.
Even though Mad Money didn’t do well, Katie got good reviews! I hope she gets the role that she wants!
Just as most people understand that everyone can’t get into a school like Harvard, it doesn’t make you any less of a person that you, in my case attended the the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!! I’m not saying that she shouldn’t go after what she wants, but she should be realistic also. A person being realistic doesn’t have to be unhappy either. No, I didn’t get into Harvard, but I’m still happy and proud of myself. Whatever she does, she should be the one who is pleased.
Mad Money did well considering so many more other films by other actresses tanked harder than Katie’s. Ofcourse some folks and some critics are just extra harder on Katie and Tom.
Katie’s filmography has always been interesting and the right vehicle will come for her that will showcase her hidden talents and show this lady is special.
Well, she’s been through a lot. Posters have commented that she looks slender, glamorous… and exhausted, even shell-shocked. Maybe she has more to bring to an acting role now. Maybe she’ll wake up, walk out of her marriage, and walk into some amazing roles. Who knows.
I thought she was going to be a clothes designer.
LOL Carla! I hope she can make a come-back. Time to focus on her needs now instead of being “Suri’s” mom and Tom’s “wife”. I would like to see her more empowered and more sure of herself in interviews. I would like her to be the A list actress she initially hoped she would be when she first went to LA.

WOW! It would be nice if she could have a say in what SHE wants and not what the pr peeps put out there.
But that is how tc’s kind of hollywood works. Penny Cruz did not want to handle it so tc had to move on!
PuckHappy??- Again, how do you know what “Penny” Cruz wanted or wants. By you stating your statements like they are facts does not make them any more true than me saying I believe you are Libraesque. You do not know what Katie wants, Tom wants, Nicole wants, P Cruz wants. I am sure Katie has a complete say in what she wants. Show me actual proof from a reliable person that Katie does not have a say in what she wants and then I will respect your posts. Otherwise, it is very very irresponsible to make constant statements that are your opinions only.
Best of wishes to Katie. I enjoyed her movies and I look forward to a comeback.

Uhhh… SoCalGirl, I don’t know why you’re picking on PuckHappy (is it only because you think she’s Libraesque?) This whole SITE is based on gossip and innuendo, put out there by PR people. None of it is confirmed to be true. Similarly, everyone’s comments here are their opinions and say things like “Katie aspires to be an A-list actress”. How do you know that’s true? Do you know KH? Have you heard her say it?
So why are you choosing to pick on one person? Leave PH alone.

I am just speechless. How low will these tabloids go?
Katie herself has said that Tom will work however many hours and come home and help her with things…………he wants to she said.
There is a plus to having the paps constantly on your tail. There is video everywhere of Katie going in and out of Joan’s on Third, the back entrance, the front entrance and nowhere is her bodyguard holding on to her to prevent her from falling. Many times times she is opening the door herself and many times the car is right there.
Her bodyguards control the paps who are out of control
Katie chooses not to wear much or no makeup at all for some outings, good for her that she doesn’t feel that need.
How sad and desperate are some of us to believe the crap coming out of Star magazine!

You know, non-fans can believe anything if you can believe a rag that says Katie Holmes fainted a couple of weeks ago in a restaurant with paps all around and it did not make headline news! How desperate is that?
Katie is leading her life. She seems happy and content. Yes not all the time that she look excited but every one has their good and bad days.
Umm…if you look carefully at Cat’s posting all she did was post the article from the Star. I don’t think she made any comments of her own about it although the last 2 sentences might be her own words…but I have no way to know for sure unless I actually buy the Star magazine (which I won’t do).
Anyway..my point is that it isn’t appropriate for other posters to call her desperate or sad for expressing herself in this way. We are not supposed to bash each other or to say unkind things. I am not a fan or a non-fan (of this couple) but I have to say that I think the non-fans have done a better job of following the new comment policy than the fans have done. As far as I have seen the so called “haters” have refrained from casting aspersions on other posters but have not been given the same respect from the fans. This is disturbing to me and I think all you “positive, happy to be here again fans” should check yourselves and stick to posting comments about TC, KH and SC and NOT continue to criticize other posters.
Woo hoo, our mystery man has been solved. That was really bugging me too, kept searching for Katie Holmes lunch with mystery man. Do we know if any projects are actually in the works? Like movie parts she wants?
I think Katie was in talks for a movie but she never confirmed that she was going to be in it. Also think it’s been delayed. It sounded kind of interesting to me. But if not that, hope she finds a script she likes and we hear about her next project soon.
Lilianne, posting a story means you believe it or you want people to believe it. This is a negative story from catinhat who we all know from past posts is not a fan. Of course she has a right to opine what she wants but we too have a righ to say what we feel. I did not find any thing disrespectful.
It is funny that an article from Star gets deleted as tabloid news because it is negative, yet the source for this is Life and Style, another tabloid.
Katie can do what she wants. Personally, I hate it when people denigrate the role of wife and mother, as if these are not important roles in a person’s life. In fact, they are more important than A-list actress, President, etc.
My own opinion is that all stories from those tabloids should be completely ignored no matter
how cute the picture or picture.
PEOPLE magazine at least will investigate a story and a source before taking it to print or posting it on their website as fact.
The idea of Star magazine as a reputable, believable publication cracks me up!
Maybe the publishers are hoping that it’s smaller size and revamped look will do something for it’s sleaze factor reputation.
People is still a tabloid and should be read with a grain of salt as well. People is not the New York Times, folks. Even they get things wrong!!

New here. Boy, I can feel a chill. Is there some kind of war between fans and what one poster termed “non fans?” Seems like a rugby match against opposing teams. Know that people have differeing opinions, but I read some other threads on this site. Made me feel a chill in the air. Not sure why or where this is coming from. Kind of reminds me of being in grade school again.
I don’t believe much I read in the tabloids, good or bad. We can see pictures of her lunch at The Grill though, and I’ve heard Katie say she feels lucky to be able to spend time with her family and have a career that she loves. So whether an ‘insider’ told the magazine anything or not, she’s probably looking at scripts. Hope she finds the right one!
I hope it is not another Mad Money. I don’t think Angelina jolie could have made that one great. I just heard that in general it was a bad script. It is a shame Katie didn’t do Batman Returns. She would have had a better comeback.

Quite frankly the only celeb news I find reliable are from Vanity Fair and People magazine. The rest are junk for me and I would be caught dead reading them. Its way too embarassing to read trash.

FYI a mighty heart had a bigger budget but did much worse than mad money at the box office. Mad money was a caper movie which was not supposed to be a box office hit. Katie Holmes is not a box office goddess and has never claimed to be. She did not carry the movie and you can’t call it her picture. The script was not an oscar one and no one claimed it was. The other bolewyn girl is supposed to be a bigger hit but opened a million more than mad money. No one however is going on and on about that.
It was a decent box office performance, better than Katie’s other movies save from Batman and thank you for smoking. Some times people just like to set expectations unreasonably high so that they gloat, for what reason, I wonder.
Actually Anne ALL of the tc/kh fans posted OVER and OVER that kh is an oscar worthy actress and that MM was proof.

Anne, anna, or whatever, please relax a bit. Between what you call the fans and non-fans, I think the non-fans have been behaving much better within this new criteria. There is room for all kinds of opinions even on a ‘fan’ site. If everyone just gushes about KH’s new outfit or shoes or whatever, this site will die pretty quickly. Differences in opinions and posters are what make it interesting enough for folks to come back. If things become all fluffy and no substance at all, I will take off as well.
And on the thread topic, I would love to see KH take the reins of her own life back and hire her own people and make her own decisions. I think she gets exhausted from being told what to think, do, say, believe, etc. I think Team TC is very difficult to be around and maintain any part of one’s self.

she is coming back, soon as she’s finished her shopping she’s heading right to Broadway.
