According to DailyMail, Katie Holmes is in final negotiations to make her professional stage debut on Broadway.
The producer of a revival of All My Sons, Arthur Miller’s heartbreaking, post-World War II family drama, is clearly hoping Holmes will create some sizzle at the box office later this year.
It would be the first major revival of a Miller play since the dramatist’s death three years ago.
This performance would mean that Katie would be on stage 6 nights a week. Katie has supposedly committed to taking part in a workshop in May. She will play the part of a woman who visits her former neighbours, the family of a missing pilot she once loved.
Other celebs set to be in the play with her include John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest, two Broadway veterans that would help make Holmes feel very comfortable. This will be her first play since High School.
As far as what this could for her career:
One theatre expert based in London told me: “This play will be like a shop window for Katie. The aim is to remind people of her acting chops. It’s kind of a neat idea.
“Nicole Kidman had Hollywood eating out of her hand when she was in The Blue Room,” the expert added.
Katie on Broadway…I could see it and think this would be great for her.

Puck: IMO, I think she is ‘putting off kids’ because of not being able to have another, for what other reason. Not sure what is really happening in that department, but KH said last year she wanted more right away and that she was trying again. When it wasn’t happening, she sang a different tune and decided to get on with her career and told the press she was waiting. Her choice.
Besides, her career is what she can get started on again without Scientology approved methods.
Either way, I don’t think Katie gave up too much to be a mom. She was able to jet off to Washington for an MIII premiere with TC for three days when Suri was three weeks old. She left Suri for two weeks at nine months to go to Paris for Fashion Week. And who knows what else! She can do it because she has the nannies to take over for her when she is tired and needs a break.
Anyone who is a mother and has their kids is not selfish…unless they keep them in the public eye for their PR. I seriously doubt many of the posters here are mothers, or if they do they deposit the kids in daycare so they can have a life, because being home with them is hard work.
Let see I should sing the praises of the great mother KH who can shop whenever she wants, dump her kid on the nannies whenever she wants, is constantly photographed at midnight with her baby still awake and no coat on, and because she ‘gave up’ one year of her life for her baby while still jetting all over the world by herself to shop. (And Suri wasn’t even one year old when she went back to work.) You know what, there are plenty of other stars who fit that bill as well, including the couple who everyone here likes to bash. At least they are something more worthwhile with their time than shopping and stressing about decorating their umpteenth home.
Oh, excuse me, they are doing their job, just like anyone else who has kids is doing their job. Nothing more or less than the millions of other mothers out there.
I was a stay at home mom for a long time. Let me tell you, there should be a Mother’s Day more than once a year!! It’s one of the hardest, yet rewarding jobs out there. There are millions of women in America who tackle this job everyday without help, not even any help from their children’s fathers. My hats off to all these women because I fully understand how demanding a job it is. When someone is given extra brownie points for “mothering”, I scratch my head. To me, they’re just doing what they’re supposed to do. If someone is taking care of their kids, why gush and ooh and aah. People, they’re supposed to take care of individuals they brought into the world.
No one special………….KH has never said she wanted to have more kids right away after Suri. I have never heard those words from her mouth. She was asked if she’d would like to have more kids and her answer was ………”Yes. most definitely.” She continues to say yes and has said not right away.
On that trip to Aberdeen for M:I:3 promotion they went and came right back to LA all done in hrs not three days.
They arrived when everyone had gathered, signed autographs, posed with the winner and did not stay for the screening.
Also her trip to Paris fashion week was less than a week and Suri was with her father pooping and sleeping no doubt as most babies at that age do.
Promoting MM in New York during the time she was in New York the weather was so mild that many of those nights you didn’t need a coat.
There are many mothers who are actresses who take babies much, much, much younger than Suri was on film sets.
Again, all children are different………….Suri goes to bed around 11 and wakes up at 9………..That is a full 10 hours of sleep, most parents can only dream of that.
She seems a very happy and engaging child.
I don’t know where you are constantly seeing Suri photographed at midnight because i sure am not and the pics i have seen of her she is with either one or both of her parents…………….Most of those pics being in Germany over much of late summer/early fall. Enjoying the parks and other everyday things that parents enjoy with their children.
There is what is factual and what is tabloid embellishment.
Love the idea of Katie on Broadway……………I really hope it happens for her.

I would personally would love to see her Broadway. Maybe Cruise could be her love interest. They would be perfect together.
Katie is perfect for the role of truth-sayer in the play. She is always so honest!!
I wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of Roger Friedman mouth even if its the truth.
Personally I hope Tom and Katie will never do a movie or a play together. Most couples who work together usually don’t really make it.
Hana: I am willing to bet that if he praised these two, you would be quoting it. I find it amazing how when the news is positive, it is the gospel truth regardless of the source, but when it is not a gushing lovefest, it is not the truth.
I have found most of his comments have been right on the mark. I believe people say that the truth is bitter pill to swallow sometimes.
Fact: Katie Holmes will draw in more people than the John Lithgow and Diane Weist.
Fact: It is not a done deal yet. Even this source says it is in negotiations.
Fact: People who worked with KH on MAD MONEY said Cruise was there calling the shots on some things–inviting friends and clients to cast only dinners. He also had a scene removed from THANK YOU FOR SMOKING because his girlfriend was getting it on with someone in the movie. (When has Hollywood recently turned down a scene like that because it wasn’t needed. Unfortunately, that is what they are selling now, not the plot.)
I am sure you will call me a ‘hater’ but I am not. I suppose if you can’t discuss this, name calling is the next step.
