The Telegraph is reporting that Katie Holmes has been offered the role of Sylvia Llewelyn Davies in a musical version of Finding Neverland. They are saying that the role was not offered to Kate Winslet, who starred in the film and that she “lost out” on the role.
They are also saying that Katie has been taking part in a workshop in New York for the musical. The workshop centers on Sylvia’s relationship with J M Barrie, who she inspired to write Peter Pan.
The Broadway show is expected to run later this year and will also feature Christian Borle as Barrie.
A rep for Winslet has confirmed that she will not be in the musical, but adds that she does indeed have a good voice and can sing quite well.
Finding Neverland is one of my favorite movies. I would love to see Katie Holmes play the part of Sylvia Llewelyn Davies.

I am happy for her if she is happy. This role is not till later this years ot here is plenty of time for her to cool off her feet. She has done so well in AMS. I am proud to he her fan.
If this is true, we’ll know that the fabricated story of Katie being mom to the two other kids was just that – fabricated by Tom and his PR people.
Katie is stepmother to 2 teenagers, who have a mother by the way , who chooses to live in tennessee, instead of being more accesible to her kids, what do you want Katie to do, choose her roles to fit in with them , their mother never did,Katies main priority is Suri, and she goes above and beyond to be a good mother to her, I don’t think you are being fair Tyler.
No, Annie, I think she should do what she feels is best. My issue is with the false picture they paint of themselves. This is one of the reasons these blogs thrive year after year.
And, yes, I have said many times that I don’t understand Nicole and why she hasn’t fought for those kids. I presume we’ll find out one day.
I happen to think it’s Tom and Katie who are thriving while many of these blogs, tabloids and the Internet write some of the most ridiculous tall tales.

Well , I’m sorry Mary, but Katie looks to be anything but thriving, surely she doesn’t look right to you, does she?

She looks tired?
She doesn’t smile for the cameras all the time?
She is not constantly dressed to the nines?
What exactly do you want Katie to do to look right and what is looking just right?
Katie not only looks very tired Mary, she looks unhealthy, she’s so thin, and gaunt, please don’t tell me you havn’t noticed, there is a big difference in Katies appearance of today , and say 2yrs ago. No, its not the clothes, because I have said on many occasions, I like a lot of her style, and its not having to smile for the cameras, its her actual smile thats concerning, because her face has become so thin , everything about her is thin, not slim , like she used to be but unhealthy thin. Mary , we all know that Katie is in an industry where there are a lot of expectations put on people, and she never had this type of scrutiny, everywhere people are talking about her, her clothes , hair ,style continuosly, from being a private person she has become one of the most scrutinised people on the planet, and unlike other celebs, people look to her, they analyse her , maybe she has fallen into the trap to be very thin, a bit more and she’ll pass for anorexic, yes it has passed my mind on several occasions that Katie may have an eating disorder,or untreated depression, but its her unhealthy appearance that makes you think that, I don’t understand what being a family oriented person has to do with anything. Ithink she is a wonderful mum to Suri, and doing Broadway cannot be easy, and combining the two sometimes must take its toll, but again everything is available to her. If you go back about a year ago, Katie went to a function with Paula Wagner,it was about women, I have forgotten the name ,she was wearing a black sleeveless dress, and I remember thinking from back then how thin she looked, now of course she’s even more thin .In Eli Stone, when she was sitting at the table in the club, all you could see were her bones,the thing is I remember what this girl looks like, it hasn’t been 10 or 20 years ago, to look back and say how they have changed , its only been 2yrs ago when she went to Paris just before her wedding, she was glowing with health and good looks. I don’t want Katie to do anything with herself Mary, except look her former healthy looking self, and maybe grow her hair again. I can’t believe that you can’t see this, really I can’t.

I’ve seen Katie out and about NYC, I’ve seen her on the stage fir AMS twice.
I’m to see the play again on Sunday. I’ll let you know if I see a difference in her appearance.
The stories on the Internet has her as gaunt etc but she has not missed a single performance or even opted out of any commitments due to illness nor has she collapsed on stage or on the streets of NYC.
There is no way that Katie could maintain the Broadway schedule she has if she were unhealthy or ailing.
I don’t believe Mary. Anyone with a pair of eyes can see that she’s a shell of her former self.
Part of it is no doubt having a bi-coastal marriage and caring for a two year old without help of family that many of us are lucky to have around. Then, she has handlers/bodyguards flanking her every move in public. Add to that the paparazzi who she must be sick of by now. Plus, the struggle with her body type to have thin thighs and legs, which means having skin and bones for her upper body. The 3 hours or so at the theatre being a strain I just don’t buy, but if you factor it in with all the other stuff, it all adds up.
BTW, something tells me Mary has more than seen Katie out and about NYC. LOL.
Mary I don’t need to read stories on the internet to do with Katies appearance, I have eyes, she’s all over the internet, thousands of pics to look at and form an opinion on, now and then, could be a coincidence but her weight loss started around the time she became really friendly with VB, the thing is, VB doesn’t leave the house without her false eyelashes no matter what time of the day it is. Very rarely did Katie ever wear makeup when she just went out shopping or whatever, so its not that either, she doesn’t suit short hair at all, that makes a bit of a difference too, but its not the main difference , that is her extreme thinness, anyway I believe she is meeting up with Tom at the after party, we’ll see, but I feel a bit sad that you can say that you see no difference in her, because its not the truth.
