According to Entertainment Tonight, Katie Holmes will be among eight honorees at Elle Magazine’s 16th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute.
Joining the honorees list with Katie are: Julie Andrews, Emily Blunt, Julianne Moore, Zoe Saldana, Robin Wright Penn, Renee Zellweger and casting director Bonnie Timmerman.
ELLE editor-in-chief Roberta Myers said of this year’s list: "This is an incredibly strong, distinguished group of women, many of them icons, or icons to be. We are so proud to bring them together and celebrate their remarkable contribution to the industry."
The event takes place on October 19th and the honorees are asked to sign a bottle of Möet & Chandon champagne, which will be auctioned off for charity.

Congrats to Katie Cruise. I hope to see her in a action movie. I know she would be amazing.
Katie is soo freaking gorgeous.
I obviously think Katie is great but what has she done to make the Elle list. She hasn’t really don’t anything to make her notable. Take someone else who works tiredlessly for some great organization or does something to make a difference in the world.
I love this pic of her…but I agree….she is not an icon!
tres beau
I think she is an icon and someone said they should not compare her to Anne Hathaway but if you look at the candids of Anne you might change your mind.
Here is one definition of icon, One who is the object of great attention and devotion. I think this fits Katie.
To me an icon is someone who does something worth mentioning and someone who makes a difference in the world or the lives of others. Being gorgeous does not make you an icon.. The tv show “The Beautiful Life” is an example of that as the show was cancelled after 2 episodes as no one cares about how the beautiful spend their lives. Cameron Diaz, Anne Hatheway (who does a lot of humanitarian work), Angelina Jolie are prime examples of icons.
Raising Malawi, Stockings With Care, Elizabeth Glazer Pedriatic AIDS Foundation, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Love Our Children USA and Dizzy Feet Foundation are some of the charities Katie is or has been invoved with. With the Dizzy Feet Foundation she is one of the founding members. I love this DFF because we do not offer the music and dance programs we use to in schools.
